  1. I prefer Dell myself, they last forever.
  2. I've never noticed a noise from them. We have an old Acer that you can hear start up but I wouldn't describe that as noisy either. Do you have ultra strong hearing or something or a really old computer?
  3. Try Dell Outlook. I get all my work computers from there. You can get high spec refurbed towers for about ?300. Never has a problem with any of them and they all come with Windows 8 installed. Most have a 1 year warrantee too.
  4. Whoops, bit of a late cross post lol.

  6. Not sure why anyone would put an unshredded bank statement in the recyle bin anyway, but I think your reaction was pretty normal to be honest. The people who don't even want anyone taking their old clothes or broken electricals etc are the ones my comment was aimed at.
  7. StraferJack Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > is it YOU that has been giving him the glad eye > LadyD? Lol, no, I cycle and I'd have given him my number by now.
  8. I wouldn't have used 'uncharitable' because letting someone scavenge in my bin for discarded crap could hardly be called charitable. I just think the people who get all worked up over this are a bit up themselves and neurotic. Why would anyone really give a shit if they aren't stupid enough to put anything with their name etc on. If they are stupid enough to put any papers out with their names on then maybe they need to look at themselves, because with all the publicity about ID theft, you'd have to be a moron to do that.
  9. No wonder you can't remember the last time you had a shag! Write your number on a piece of paper if you don't have a business card, give your number to her just before either you or she leaves the train and say that if she fancies going for a drink or food to give you a shout. Easy :-)
  10. Used a paper address book to write down people's contact details.
  11. One of his victims was his daughter's friend and he admitted to having had sex with her, but reckons it was only after she reached 18. He'd written an apologetic letter to her dad which pretty much admitted his guilt and the girl had years of therapy as a result of the abuse. In some of these cases, complaints are made but not followed up, or actively suppressed. Piecing together lots of bits of evidence from independent sources would be able to add to the weight given to the victims oral evidence. Here is a very interesting overview of the appalling stuff that was going on then with lots of these powerful peadophiles. http://www.scriptonitedaily.com/2013/12/18/uk-establishment-closes-ranks-as-organised-paedophile-network-leads-back-to-no-10/ They were well organised and selected victims with complicit social workers by going through pictures of kids in care homes and reading their report cards as if shopping for a suit from a catalogue.

Yes
  13. What part of the teenage girl's behaviour indicated she had no self-respect?
  14. In a civil claim, the person bringing the claim would have to show on a minimum of 51% probability that she did it.
  15. In my opinion, objectification of men is fairly common, but women don't generally have the economic power to call the shots in the way men do and are raised to be pleasers rather than demanders. Massive generalisations, but I am just trying to say that it's not the objectfication that's the problem, per se, but the lack of power of the majority of women versus men that is the problem. Plus the barbie/pink pony/princess/disney crap that girls get shoved down their throat from birth.
  16. I'd be insulted to be called a yummy mummy, with all of the connotations associated with the term. I'd much rather be a tart.
  17. Julie Bindell is an asexual arsehole who hates women who enjoy (mostly heterosexual) sex as she seems to believe the post-modern feminist shit that all heterosexual sex is rape. And don't get me started on her infantilisation of sex workers, who can never be anything other than a victim in her eyes, despite many sex workers making intelligent choices about their chosen profession and controlling their working environment more than most female workers in mainstream jobs are able to.
  18. Something I'd recommend to everyone is a self-protection course. They don't just teach you how to defend yourself, but also how to be aware of possible danger and avoid having to actually defend yourself in the first place. Daniel, from www.walterstaekwondo.com does regular self-protection courses taught by a visiting instructor who has years of experience in different martial arts, teaches the police and works as a guard in a scary Manchester prison. He is good at showing you how to take easy precautions and to think on your feet. I've been on a couple and found them really useful.
  19. I try to get away as much as I can, but had my first holiday without kids in 14 years last year, after a pretty long spell without any holiday at all. I want a couple of weeks off this summer, but have too much going on to get away, so I'll probably be in London for the summer :-( I used to travel a lot but time and lack of money make it difficult now.
  20. The high shoes thing is supposed to be something to do with making our bum look higher and perkier, which apparently triggers the primal sex centre in most guys' brains. So yeh, guys, it's totally your fault!
  21. A yummy mummy only shags the gardener, a tart has a wider more varied range.
  22. Oh, my bad.
  23. I could refer you to a number of men who could tell you otherwise.
  24. Yes, I'll definitely do that. Thanks maxxi.
