  1. Google is your friend :-) http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=gas+detectors&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=where+to+place+gas+detectors&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a
  2. To Dickensman Only the post boy? Don't the people using postmen/women (or boys, if you insist) usually stamp and post and describe their intended readers-to-be? Don't we usually regard post as private? Would you like your postman/woman to read all of yours? Your comparisons are silly and I doubt the ass would appreciate yours of him either. To following pair LOL I take all that guff as typical of forum paranoia that a newie is actually a returnee. I have had one ID on this forum, I joined about 7 days ago in that/this ID (can't be faffed to check date but daresay you have). Is the forum admin (or are they, if plural) in the habit of banning people? A huge nother LOL if so.
  3. Ah, there's a pre-requisite to joining ? I mean of course a pre-requisite that's in addition to the one of approving of ASSange.
  4. I'm looking in for the first time and it's awful to be reminded of the black shirts and easy use of the word 'Yid'.

Just thought I'd be neigbourly > and let you know, incase you're unaware of it. What makes you think we're neighbours? Or .... let me guess ..... anyone disagreeing with the established majority opinion MUST be a 'troll' and an agreer can't be a wannabe gang member ...... or can they?
  6. louisiana Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > DFTT. In other words you cannot debate Lou? Fine when it's all yadder yadder "I agree you agree we agree etc and yes he's anti-authoritarian so he must be the greatest". Except ...... listen to the radio link fgs and hear first hand (late: I just did so again, what a pseud he is). http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00wqfng Edit: middle line
  7. What wimpy behaviour BNG :-) 20/12/2010 21:03 BrandNewGuy 27/12/2010 15:41 BrandNewGuy Been away for a few days? Sorry about your inability to accord others the respect you must have for your own opinions.
  8. I'll use whatever I wish in my posts, okay? >:D< My use of 'obsequious' was about your evident admiration (of Wiki of all things) LOL < in hopes that also annoys you ;-) We disagree about ASSange. Let's leave it at that. ------------------------------------ The OP wikileaks Posted by: DICKENSMAN December 06, 06:04PM They are trying to bring this man down for repeating the truth? Is this witch-hunt justified? ----------------- Clearly you didn't really want a convo about it.
  9. Blimey are you the school monitor? We can all choose when to listen to it at our leisure ..... there's iPlayer now, don't you know. I believe I commented on the one thing she'd said that I'd heard and heartily endorse. I believe Tarot ditto gave an opinion. Oh if only she could speak again, this time about another aborted plan of Gove's (late edit: books now!). Oh if only he had done something about the charity status / tax breaks for independent schools ..... yet.

Oh accept my apologies ;-) Your post was addressed to me ao I took your obsequious quoting from Wiki to have been for my assistance.
  11. Dickensman Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I agree Brandnewguy but the Americans are > desperate to "get him" for any half reason or > pretext it seems. Why would they need to get him to Sweden to achieve 'getting him'? He is wanted in Sweden for so-called crimes committed in Sweden. We do co-operate with US on extraditions .... are you confusing us with them, given that they never have, not throughout the IRA troubles nor do they with so many other nations.
  12. Oh diddums BNG, if you have a hero-worship syndrome that I don't share, you will simply HAVE to put it down to our differing objectivities. I think I did make 'allowance' for your messiah and his right to privacy when I expressed what I did in my 2.49pm post. Be that as it may I still felt like throwing up when he made the comment he lifted from Cohen. He doesn't share Cohen's TiC SoH. I think SOME harm will come to be seen as having been done by his careless exposition of what he hadn't even read himself to know whom he was exposing and to what by it. I think in SOME cases NO harm will have been done. I don't think ASSange has the right to claim other people's material. I could apply 'thought theft' to it. I own what I say and choose where to say it. Doesn't everyone? It's nobody else's to make a decision about, especially not a spoiled brat with a Mummy that led the way among those 'women have been kind' ..... He's a megalomaniac that has some (not all) of the Press around his finger AND as I asked in my first post on the topic ....... how well was his plan drawn up, how will he compensate for any damage (if any) that follows .... even if only hurt feelings?
  13. If you are disagreeing with his/her misrepresentation why not say so? .
  14. Keef Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > It means someone is trying to come across as > clever. It actually means attacking the person (which inlcudes their motivation) not their 'work'. Hey, has the messiah expressed ANY concern for the imprisoned mole that his crass careless 'work' exposed?

You have your own opinion to which you're welcome but hey, where does ad hominem cease to apply? AFTER your opining about me? Tee hee.
  16. How else should one respond to an interview with a person about what motivates him (as in his very self)? Try to catch the interview, it'll be available on iPlayer if you're interested. Had you listened to the link I'd placed yesterday? Had you missed my middle para in the above? LOL PS: The Latin by itself would have sufficed btw ;-) Wiki (with any suffix) is only as reliable as its contributors/amateur editors.
  17. I heard the replay yesterday of Assange being interviewed by John Humphrys, which got a bit yukky during the conversation about the sex crime allegations. I must say that the little I've heard about them does sound strange, would women really voluntarily describe such stuff as crime? Anyway, Assange still made me cringe with his 'women have been kind to me' comment. WTH does he think he is? Leonard Cohen said something similar but much better ;-) .
  18. I often find I have to close Firefox down and re-open immediately. Still prefer it to Darth IE ! .
  19. Does a comment with no context count for 'owt?

Yes, UppyDowny was inspired by empathy about life for them below t'stairs whereas although Fellowes (it does have the 'e' !!) nods to acknowledge it he is such a cracking snob himself that ....... words fail :'(
  21. My favourite's Radio4 and there's a fair bit of repetition that happens on that but as the longest slot is an hour (except for The Archers omnibus ..... yawn) and usually a half or quarter, it's not so annoying. The Xmas Eve comedy was hilarious and some of the 6.30pm slots are the launch pads for talent such as those behind fun like 'The Thick of it' (tu)

  23. I didn't watch it although I'd heard/read good previews of it but [late edit: re Downton] I can't bear Julian Fellows (and if there should be an 'e' before the 's' don't bother poking me about it anyone Grrrrrrr ......) ::o I also don't rate the actress who's one of the leads .... the one that's the present face of some Boots No7 product or other and is always always the same as she's so pretty pretty. I usually have the radio on and seldom get bored enough to wonder what's on the box but admit there are some gems from time to time.
