  1. Thanks Kate! I don't have "what's app" but also not available next Tuesday :-( Maybe next time..... once you decide on a date/time/venue could it be posted here too?
  2. Dependent on day/time/price I might be interested :-)
  3. Hi everyone, I have only just found this thread.... I am due 28 August with our first baby... life is pretty hectic at the moment but it would be great to keep in touch and hopefully make a meet up! x
  4. Hi everyone - congratulations on your impending arrivals! I am due late Aug/early September with our first baby :-) all very exciting and a little daunting! hmt1979 - I attend pregnancy yoga at http://www.yogarisepeckham.com/ they have drop in prices as well as block bookings. At the moment the classes are Saturdays at 15:30 but they are looking to move to a more convenient time as they appreciate it is not the best time. x
  5. Hi, I just wanted to say that think the facilities at Yogarise are great... and I love Yazmin's pregnancy yoga classes. Unfortunately I can't make every week due to the time but I would definitely recommend both Yazmin and Yogarise. x
  6. Hi, Just wondering if anyone in the area has hired a Birth Doula as their birthing partner and if they can recommend anyone, share their experiences? I have looked on http://doula.org.uk and there are lots of Doulas registered but recommendations are always helpful. Many thanks

  8. Anyone travelled through London Bridge recently? Boards are saying all is fine, just wanted to check if that is the case....
  9. Live departure board for London Bridge to East Dulwich (or whichever station combination you need) http://ojp.nationalrail.co.uk/service/ldbboard/dep/LBG/EDW/To
  10. Thanks for starting this thread - yes please East Dulwich residents who are actually in the area during the day or travelling to/from the area please keep us updated! I work in the City and know in previous years that buses were terminated at Camberwell due to Dog Kennel Hill being impassable and the trains being stopped......... don't want to be stranded at work!
  11. Sorry, just to clarify - there is no footy? Good to hear that there will be an overhaul of the food and so on as that really did let the place down. I never had a run in with the managment so couldn't comment, though the Irish barman in there the last time we went was fantastic. I got excited re the overhaul of food etc as I used to get treated to lunch/dinner at the pub in return for my OH being able to watch the football!
  12. Another recommendation - I phoned up on Friday afternoon in a panic as my uv gel manicure (that I had done at another salon) was coming away badly and I was worried about my real nails being trashed. The salon I had it done at couldn't fit me in until the following Thursday! 999beauty fitted me in on Friday evening (so same day) and have done a great job - my natural nails are looking fab - nicely shaped, cuticle oiled, nail strengthener plus shaping and cuticle clipping, all for ?10! Oh and for those asking about the big leather chairs with a spa pool for your feet - yes they are still there - I so need to book me a manicure just to try it out!
  13. Halmets Health Club (Dulwich Hamlets football ground next to Sainsburys) has an offer on at the mo, think it is ?3.99 a week or similar. I personally am a member of fitness first so use london bridge branch on my way to work in the week or walworth road branch at weekends.
  14. Maybe untamedstylist and pedropwers need to get talking - tattoo palour and hairdressers have been know to share premises........ pedropowers obvously has the capital to set up show and then for a reasonable rent untamed stylist could have a premises......... As for mobile tattooists, not sure that is legal due to sterile premises, autoclaves etc.
  15. Oooo I didn't realise we could get smaller green bins and smaller blue bins, I shall have to ask. I have already asked for my blue boxes to be picked up.
  16. Anyone know why there were lots of police activity and a couple of ambulances next to the Barbers opposite East Dulwich Train Station??

We had the same issue with Dulwich cars. My boyfriend was due to be at club he was playing at for 5am. At 5:30am the driver was saying he was outside our house. We were but he wasn't. We finally found out he was in Streatham - we are SE22. It took 10mins of ringing the office number (despite them advertising as 24hrs) for someone in the office to wake up and answer. Completely useless. We have, so far (touch wood), had no issues with Panther. If there is another compnay that people would recommend though that would be great as we have an airport run coming up.
  18. I have just sent the petition to most of my email address book. A friend replied that at 8pm last night it was at 27,000 signatures, now it is at 58,000+ so there is a good following! I have also shared on facebook. Thanks to all those who kept us up-to-date yesterday. It took my 2 hours to get home rather than 35mins due to tube delays but it was good to know that there was no trouble waiting at ED.
  19. Unfortunately I can't leave until work say so. Will just keep an eye on here. Please can people let us know if East Dulwich Station closes or any other disruptions to transport! Thanks all.
  20. Is East Dulwich Station still open? Work (based in Canary Wharf) are showing no signs of letting us leave early and I am starting to worry about getting home! Any factual information gratefully received!
  21. Whether the victims were innocent bystanders or defending their family/friends or even the instigators of the argument, they didn't deserve to die. I say we as there were multiple victims and it is more luck than judgement that one is still alive. We can argue about who is to blame all we want but at the end of the day the fault lays at the feet of those who used the knife/gun. They had a choice and they chose to kill. Yes this kind of thing is getting worse and yes it does need to be tackled but turning on each other is not helping anyone. As someone who grew up attending youth groups such as girl guides and then venture scouts and who helped out with the younger groups, I do believe that these help people have a positive outlet for their energies and it can be channelled creatively. The problem these days is not many people have time to dedicate to running these groups. I would at this stage like to praise the work anyone working with kids does, it can make a huge difference. Whether we like it or not we have a gang culture in most big cities in the UK and until the government helps those who want to help young people then I don't think we are going to get very far. At the end of the day, we as human beings have a choice in everything we do and the way we do it. All we as individuals can do is use our choices wisely and hope to always be a positive influence on others. My condolences to the families affected.
