  1. Oh blah blah Don't get me wrong. I mean the whole building process has been fabulous and I love all that. it's just the end result is predictable don't you think. Bland, craftless & kit like It's new It's the tall It's distinctly dull (with angles) I think Boris described it as "like the needle of a hypodermic syringe, poking out from beneath the earth" he then waffled and said something a little more disparaging/generic about past buildings "Charles Dickens hated Big Ben" or something like he does Conversely, take a building like 30 St Mary Axe. It's construction is there to marvel at and it plays with your senses. The further you are from it the more it stands out. However, try to find it without using a map. It's great fun, because it aludes you, hides almost. And when you do get there, the best view of it isn't a direct one, but a reflected view in the building adjacent to it Netts
  2. Actually, come to think about it... I'm not diggin' The Shard I cycled past it a 5am this morning & it did absolutely nothing for me Stacks of shite white glass at an angle. So friggin what There, i've said it ! (do feel free to add your own a.c.t.t.a.i's) Nette
  3. So Who's looking forward to The World Cup Qualifiers ? Any predi.... (maybe not, yet)
  4. Just to qualify, when I wrote the following: "OMG they rapidly caught fire, becoming "Saddam's frisbees" in minutes & filling the air with their volatile chilli oil evilness" ....I was stone-cold-sober (& not endangering the whole household whilst staggering around the kitchen) If i'm "of wine" then a bowl of crunchy nut cornflakes + soya milk does me just fine Nette
  5. I take it "Fatso and Theotherone" keep within the boundaries of SE22
  6. I think the "eating standing up" is near de riguer (though if at home, timing is another thing) I put some mung bean flour spicy poppadums in the microwave the other day (they fluff up a treat) And I became rather distracted OMG they rapidly caught fire, becoming "Saddam's frisbees" in minutes & filling the air with their volatile chilli oil evilness The whole household ended up coughing their lungs out (which was quite funny in its own way:))) Nette

  24. I so wanted us to go through and we had a chance. But did we blow it? No I don't think so, we played our hearts out & Italy should have scored earlier on in the match. Johnson in defence was excellent, that last stop alone made his game I listened to it on Talksport (Stan Colimore was excellent btw) and got home just in time for the penalty shoot out Anyway, hats off to the team and the manager, it's been a long time since Team England football has been this passionate One last thing. Gary Linikers face when talking post match to Jurgen Klinsmen, was a picture to behold Nette(tu)
  25. I do it fairly regularly, as I work in Blanford Street I take my Brompton bike and train it into Victoria, then cycle up through Hyde Park Or if it's a bit grim i'll get on the bus just outside the station and hop off/cycle from just past Marble Arch I also use Damon B's route + bike The bike bit makes it much more fun Nette(tu)
