I'm fascinated by other peoples obsessions. The more irrational the better. As a child I would go bonkers if someone opened my crisp packet 'upside down' ( it took me until I was around 40 to get over this ) A friends son won't wear a freshly ironed shirt unless he scrunches the collar up. And my youngest will only eat in a restaurant if he can 'smell' it first. We tested 3 Turkish restaurants in Green Lanes before he'd go in. ( he made a great choice btw ) My mother and my younger brother were the same but he's never met either. They are to be celebrated and embraced, though I do feel for my neighbour who has a whole tapping-mantra he follows before he leaves the house, late or not. So do we inherit these obsessive quirks through our DNA or are they learnt behaviors. I'm all ears, so share your rituals-quirks-obsessions with me. NETTE NB. And Loz... Where else do you get a deli selling only pork derived products, hot & cold, all very delicious. God I love skiing & having done so in loads of places, i'd say Austria truly stands out I can still remember the Danish girls stripping off on the slo...... Anyway, what fun. Enjoy. NETTE:)

What resort are you going to ? And what ski school/instructor are you looking at ? I personally reckon that Austrian skiing is excellent. The slopes when well snowed upon are great fun and the Austrian temperament seems well adapted to teaching. Plus you can't beat the tirol apres ski. As long as you're fit you should manage at least 3-4 days instruction. Remember though by day three you'll be knackered either way. That's what I reckon anyway. "schlooooos" NETTE:)

Why do we bother ?

There's definitely one in Penge ( it's a bit weird though ) And there's lovely signs for two in Crystal Palace but they've blocked the actual "bogs" off. I know there's one in Rustington. It used to say "Clive Scrimshaw is a bender" on the inside of the door, above the crudely cut hole filled with Izal loo roll. There's was one at Littlehampton train station with a massive rubber-jonny machine inside the narrow entrance "This machine is alarmed" it said on the outside. I used to cycle an 8 mile round trip for that one. Under the Sea lane cafe in Goring-by-sea there's also one . When the tide comes in it gets a bit damp in there, so the bog roll tears easily. Hmmmmm.. Clr JB has set him self up on a very active forum, which in its self is a fairly new platform for political dialogue. He may well be ruing the day but it is interesting. I'm sure people have always held these views and wanted to ask questions, it's refreshing to be able to listen in collectively to it all. In the past it would have been different & near impossible to see other peoples written views. Now, where JB goes from here is is anyones guess. If he stays and fronts it out I wish him well. If he signs out, never to be seen again, then it's been a thought provoking experiment. Either way it isn't going to be a bed of roses for ol' Jimbo. I just wish we had such access to more people in 'Politics'. NETTE

Have you been to Lisbon It's a lovely city to visit & it's still good value with great food. I like it so much that I went there on my own once. Very nice indeed, though it depends what you're looking for from a holiday. NETTE(tu)(tu)(tu)
