  1. MP (wearing his Radiant Bhuna Sash) waits to greet the incoming Gingerbeer with a selection of goods left over from the 'offered and for sale' section... http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fPQPwzIBlDc/Tnn6UXbPl0I/AAAAAAAALaE/JB4oUbp2YUE/s1600/raggedy+dan.jpg Is that her? I think she's coming...
  2. If you like buses you'll love the tram - worth going to Croydon just for the surreal experience of riding on what feels like a bus but goes along railway lines. http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRJkOE7cCBU2sV-mN-reE4w9OdUaH1VnuWkVEgYdTrmyJXfr09-9Q I am easily pleased http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSLs0b1l_R8ap_86BJSukTZhjOb5VZQgwRw8--pWtTCKXKuYkCJ
  3. I think we're missing the point - surely God is to blame but if he doesn't exist - which he doesn't - then we are to blame or rather our forefathers are for making the whole bloody thing up. So humans are stupid and some are more stupid than others and some stupider for longer than others and that includes muslims, hundus, jews, sikhs, christians, druids, witches, those (over the age of 6) who still believe in the tooth fairy and santa claus. This means that the acceptance and/or broadcasting of ANY religious belief - like HM being head of the church and MPs banging on about God - makes those that do it either as responsible for atrocities committed in the name of religion as the perpetrators themselves or apologists for the same ("They've got the right idea about god but they just express it wrongly") and until there is a worldwide acceptance that it is ALL a bloody lie the situation will not change.

True MP, but your self-confessed gingeresque proclivities obviously put you in awe of a real life day-walker. That, allied to the fact you had obviously fallen for the Iowa Ingenue and would have believed her had she told you she was actually a rare breed of talking salmon, leaves your staunch defence looking accidental and a triumph of optimism over experience. To ignore the fine forensic dissection of a seemingly innocent spelling that was seized on by my keen mind alone betrays the height of your fall and the depths of the pool of transatlantic teasery into which you have fallen. I think a Phal is in order to clear the pipes. Of course, the revelation of said BBW's current avatar would go a long way to cementing your place at the head of the queue of the EDF welcoming phalanx.
  5. I am at a loss to know where to start - what with the proddies worrying about who will take over as grand master of the order of f*cknuts of Canterbury and the left footers singling out the Irish from their smorgasbord of paedos and violent abusers (like choosing the sore with most pus in it) - possibly because they're not kicking as much back to the Roman fascisti - surely to God well just surely it's time to let the idea of God die in peace. We tried it in various guises but it's never really worked has it? Okay there was a time back in 128AD when the whole sacrificial thing was a bit of a giggle but seriously ... let it go.
  6. Ha! My knowledge of the transatlantic use of 'Patty's' for 'Paddy's' came in useful at last. No soppy kitten pics for me! http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTpiAFdiT9V_mV1V-PEaLGnZbB70gzAi7wsSuBb00G0YD82u34CwV4xpt2zxg Oh, and I think you accidentally found the Barry Rd Fun-Run. This is held just before the elite event and is distinguishable from the real A-List race by the fact that fun-runners only down a pint immediately before and after the race whilst the International Athletes (some who have chosen to combine the Olympics with this year's race) down a pint AND a short (whisky, vodka etc) at each end. International referee and thistle throttling champion (eight years running) H. M. Boab can sort you out a list of rules, a drug test and take you through the required vetting procedure.
  7. The Croydon Tram network.
  8. I think you've been away too long Huge. Losing the plot AND all sense of proportion is the raison d'etre for most forumites. The giggling anticipation "Ooh is it him?" has kept the veterans interested while those of us who weren't on here when BBW was in his pomp really couldn't give a fuck - except maybe to wonder if his return might be more interesting/entertaining than the current status quo.
  9. I'm swayed (into believing GB is not BBW despite the obvious looking clue of being a tall goodlooking female or Big Beautiful Woman or BBW) by use of the term "St Patty's Day" (which I have only ever heard from a septic) rather than Paddy's. And while we're on the subject - Beannachta? na f?ile P?draig to all. ETA: A capital letter for Paddy (even if recent 'revelations' that he was a slave trader are true that's no reason to give him a little 'p'.)

    Sushi

Because, in Japan, what lives in raw fish is extracted and sold separately at a premium price. And the stuff that lives in the stuff that lives in raw fish - well if you have to ask you can't afford it.
  11. I had Pompous Ass in the 4.30. Fell at the third fonce (sic).
  12. An early example of chugging in Rye Lane - was that a postman or a policeman whose bike the girl stepped in front of at 03:51 to make him buy a posy? And note the sophistication of early peckhamites as the chap in the boater goes to step in fron of the camera ot 03:18 but steps back just in time. Strapping lasses mind.

  14. Given that figures of 600+ horse deaths at race meetings in 2006 in the USA were part of another thread on here a while back it does seem an over-reaction. Can't see people in this country caring much either way. Five have already died at the year's Cheltenham.
  15. Piffle? Tommyrot? Take it outside you lads...

Low and behold . . And who was the first to raise that possibility on this forum....? To continue the Latin motif - tua culpa me old mukka.
  17. Fair play - good game - great win. Delighted for Di Matteo.
  18. British foxes. They like tea eggs (check for marbling).

I object most strongly (and at the same time am indifferent to) to your use of language here... A nice hum-a-long now that's different. One could not tell hummers from hummees, no one need know the words, and no one could tell tunelessness from deliberate sabotage. And the place could become known one that really hums.

He's only pointing out the obvious Huge. I mentioned the railway line from London Bridge to ED once... on a public forum! I will be kicking myself if scrap metal thieves nick the bloody thing. I applaud such public service and can only hope razors keeps an eye out for all of us. (P.S. - Don't mention the Shard - there's a lot of metal in it).
  22. I have no real issue with live music either - I just don't like folk music or 'singarounds' and don't need to be encouraged to give it a go or get PMs telling me 'each to their own'. The way the folkie mafia (Sue, KK, Flapjak) stomped all over this thread in righteous indignation has put me off even more.
  23. The quality of the tea abroad (especially in the USA where good tea is as hard to find as good bacon) is a part of it but not boiling the water (using hot instead) is key - this thread will tell you all more than you need to know (please note, Mr Carnell is quite thorough, yes he is).
  24. Partly the taste... http://www.dwyforsustainable.com/images_products/large/Imporient_Tea.jpg ...and partly because egg & chips, 2 slices and a coffee is just wrong.
