Anywhere selling decent strong tea bags locally?
Alec1 replied to Sue's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I always buy Twinings Strong English Breakfast Tea. Their decaf everyday tea is also pretty good. -
This is from the Swiftqueue booking system. IMPORTANT NOTICE - All routine phlebotomy services have now been paused until further notice at King’s College Hospital and the Tessa Jowell Healthcare Centre. If your clinician tells you your blood test is clinically urgent, please attend the phlebotomy clinic at King’s College Hospital. If you have a GP referral, your GP must indicate that your test is ‘Urgent’ on the form, otherwise we are unable to see you. You do not need to book an appointment in advance using Swiftqueue, however please turn up between the hours of 08.00 and 17:00 at King’s College Hospital where you can make a same day appointment within the clinic. We are incredibly sorry for any upset or inconvenience this has caused you. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Wondered if anyone knew if the Hillsborough Road school restriction will be lifted during the road works, as access in and out is going to be difficult/not possible via Glengarry on to EDG.

Best Broadband service for East Dulwich?
Alec1 replied to LB171's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I've been with Plusnet for nearly 20 years, 15 here in ED. Recently moved to full fibre with them, and it's been very reliable/stable. I find customer services fantastic. Important to call them when they are about to renew your contract. Haggle, and always, in my experience, I have managed to get a very good deal. -
Problem with BT installing fibre optic cable
Alec1 replied to mayfly's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Get it for less than that. Cat 8 Ethernet cable should only be around £20 for 20 metres. Amazon sell plenty and at least if it's rubbish you can send it back! -
DHFC / Green Dale latest planning application

The consultation has ended, which is why you can't comment any more. -
Agreed. If I were to get another cat, whether vaccinated or not, I would prefer to have them looked after at home.

I was going to say about sharing brown bins, plus taking turns to go to the recycle centre. I would encourage composting though, as it irks me that we pay the council to remove our compostable waste, who compost it, bag it, then sell it back to us!

I was quite glad to be honest. My regular is pretty generic, but since it was closed, this was very welcome. There are plenty offering non generic food on the various apps. Sometimes all you want is tried and tested comfort food! Personal choice, room for all. 🙂

They may not NEED vaccinations, but if you want to board them at all, most catteries and kennels require them to be up-to-date with the vaccinations offered.

I tried Chi Chinese last night, relatively new I believe. They are on Lordship Lane. Was really nice. I used Deliveroo, but I think they are on UberEats and Just eat too.

What about St Christopher's on Lordship Lane? -
Disabled badges being stolen from cars
Alec1 replied to mlteenie's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Maybe there is a need though. Perhaps they don't wake early enough to be able to put it out on the car at 8.30am. Not everyone, especially those with disabilities, can be up at the crack of dawn! -
Disabled badges being stolen from cars
Alec1 replied to mlteenie's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I was under the impression a disabled badge is registered to just the person, not the vehicle. Allows them to use it in any car they might drive or be a passenger of. So putting the registration on it, would be restrictive. -
Local pharmacies who take old medication?
Alec1 replied to Sue's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
as the link says, all pharmacies are obliged to take old/unwanted medicines. https://cpe.org.uk/national-pharmacy-services/essential-services/disposal-of-unwanted-medicines/ -
I think they mean Glassmills which is Lewisham.

Magnets are the reason. I had the same a few years back through amazon.

I have had these since April 2021, and just checked today for pressing key buttons when they were inside, and also sitting in the car and trying to start the engine. Still doing the trick....if you remember to put the fob inside! https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08QJB73XY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Didn't know this actually! I think I know the one though.

Yeah, I had seen that when posted. My faraday pouches work, I check them every so often, it was simply me forgetting to use it. This person seemed more intent on taking valuables lying inside cars more than the car itself.

Felt I should flag this up for anyone who is in the Trossachs Road area, or beyond, that there are thieves breaking into cars using keyless tech. I had mine done in the early hours of this morning, which I have on video. A car stopping just in front and parallel to mine, silver or white, I think a ford fiesta. Then one person, walking directly up to my car, a gadget in their hand, and opening my passenger door. Sadly, I did not put my keys into the faraday pouch I use yesterday when I came home. Something I always do, but didn't this time. Faraday pouches are not expensive, you can get them on Amazon. Also, good to put spare keys into a separate one, and keep both as far away from where your car is parked as possible.
