Not sure what you expect. It is a large warehouse for kids in South London, are you expecting to get five-star treatment? My advice would be to do as I do: be near the front of the queue when it opens, let your kid have a good time and then get out before the great unwashed arrive. Bit unfair to expect much from the staff, if they speak English nowadays, it's a bonus. You could try the one in Kensington but it's not much better.

I doubt oil and energy are the main issue here. They do not necessarily lead to corruption either, with Canada and Norway being good examples of this. These protests are against presidents and regimes that have been in place for many years and don't seem keen to surrender power. People, especially the younger generation, are getting fed up with it and the increase in the cost of living (especially food) is not helping either. But always suspicious of someone who starts a debate with inflammatory language and then doesn't get involved again. Discuss.

Good for you. This is what the Big Society is all about. We shouldn't expect the government or council to do everything for us all the time. If 50% of people cleared the patch in front of the house, it would make a big difference.

I think we can see from the A-level pass rates today that equality did improve under Labour. Did you know that pass rates have risen from 87.6% in 1997 to 97.6% today? That's a 10% increase in cleverness under their education policies. Of course though, I worry about the people who do not pass and the stigma that they face. We need to focus on the 2.4% who don't pass and ask ourselves how we can help them. I'm not sure about all this social mobility nonsense that's going on now. People should know their place and be happy with it. John Major introduced the national lottery and there is always the X factor if you want to get rich quick.

Agreed. In the Soviet Union, where my wife grew up, physical health was very good, drug abuse low, education excellent, obesity rates were much better than the UK has now, trust and community life were good. Violence was pretty rare, as were teenage pregnancies. Social mobility was good too as long as you joined the party. So, bring back the hammer and sickle I say. As long as I can be head of the KGB.

Things will hot up for them once Labour vote for a new leader.

Actually, 32.4% voted Conservative and 22% voted Lib Dem. That constitutes a majority. Although I do accept that probably half of the Tory voters are anti-EU hangers and floggers (like myself) and half of the Lib Dem voters are to the left of the Labour Party. But I, for one, think the coalition is doing a pretty good job.

I think he just wants people to stop relying on the state and fend for themselves. However, I would agree that this suggestion is likely to make very little difference to the overall problem. Latest projections are for our population to grow by 24% over the next 40 years and become the most populous state in Western Europe. Now, most of these studies are unreliable but it is clear that overcrowding is an issue. The solution is quite simply to withdraw from the EU and control our borders again.

Yes that's all jolly good. I am a beastly capitalist in a top hat. But surely the point of what the PM is saying is that there should be regular reviews of council tenants to see whether they still merit residency in taxpayer funded accommodation? I think the term for this approach is common sense. The idea that you can somehow just pass your property on to your kids despite it being government property is surely laughable?

When I saw this story, my response was 'I can't believe that there is secure tenancy for life'. Presumably so did most people, unless they read the Guardian. But clearly more social housing does need to be built and/or measures taken to limit population growth.

Not been to much of it bit the Curonian Spit area is nice, on the coast. I think the main town is Nida. We went down the Spit and into Kaliningrad. Not been to Vilnius.

What do you think about this Graduate Tax that is being floated, equality fans? Only a Lib Dem could come up with that. Let's punish you for trying to educate yourself and improve your qualifications. It's a tax on intelligence, unlike the lottery which is a tax on stupidity. It will (if ever implemented) just increase the brain drain from this country.
