  1. And as for the snobbery in East Dullrich! ::o
  2. Probably a vain attempt to keep undesirables out...
  3. Oh dear, such derision... Why not be neighbourly and wish them all the best? They won't affect an established forum like this one, plus they are targeting Dulwich. Everyone has to start somewhere and I am sure that edf started small. Good luck to them I say!
  4. Why would it be an issue, as this is the edf?

  6. More than happy to be corrected about where the initiatives have arisen from - in my view though, the eroding of the authority of teachers, police officers, parents etc. has contributed to the problems faced by young people today and let them down in many ways. Not expecting everyone to agree, just my take.
  7. I liked what Cameron had to say, and also think that years of liberal initiatives have assisted in causing the problems seen recently. Kids respond positively to firm boundaries. Stats seem to point to the fact that a stable family unit good role models is the most favourable environment for a kid to grow up within - although that is not to say that many single parent families do not provide a stable and secure environment. I am also well aware that you can twist and abuse stats to fit your particular viewpoint. I don't hold with any religious slant though and don't feel that you need to be married to create a stable family unit.

  9. So OP, if I have got this right you are saying don't buy one of these phones as it might not work, not because you would be buying stolen goods?

Hmmm..... Well... if most muggings were carried out by men in pin striped suits in bowler hats, or little old ladies dressed in beige, then - even if it were only a very small proportion of these pin striped or beige beings we would probably be a bit more wary of the group as a whole. Human nature I guess.
  11. MrPoole, ignore the daft responses - thank you for your post, which cut the crap and hit the mark.
  12. Crystal Palace is quiet after last night's debacle. Almost all shops closed and boarded up, but some pubs open and doing v good business!
  13. kinda glad I moved out years ago..

Hate it - if they are dippy enough to be cruising along in the middle lane regardless of whether the inside lane is clear as a bell then they aren't going to notice someone racing up on their inside should they choose to drift into the inside lane.

Happiness depends on conditions being > precieved as positive. It is interesting, isn't it, how views on life differ. My views on the above are somewhat different in that we can achieve happiness if in fact we DO learn from our failures and heartaches and bear them in mind when we make important decisions in the future, e.g. with future jobs or relationships. The trick, to me, is to learn not to feel bitter about them rather than to erase them from memory.

  17. For a truly scrumptious ice cream alternative it is worth trying chocolate 'Booja Booja' ice cream - I don't know if you can get it in ED, but you can get it in the La Planta healthfood shop in Cystal Palace. It is non dairy, organic, wonderfully creamy and jam packed full of cacao. They also do ginger, vanilla, maple pecan and coconut, plus a delicious range of dairy free chocolate truffles.
  18. Mmmm...... love salty food :)

  22. Lund wear said jumpers well (I would look like a sack of potatoes), but I do wish she would crack a smile occasionally. I LOVE http://www.messengerfreak.com/emoticons/love/heartwings2.gif the series, but if I were to be her partner I would leave her in Copenhagen - permanently.
  23. Self obsessed and tiresome twat, basically.
