  1. I didn't see the match you're talking about, but they did lose a couple of players includinge the star man over the summer, and I think there is a feeling that a bit of rebuilding is happening. But generally I think the level of football is quite decent.

I don't think there is any hyperbole, and I expect you're right.

  4. Just wondering if there is anything around that people would recommend for a 5 year old?

As Nigello has already pointed out, that is at best a partial truth. Plenty of people use that shop who don't have smartphones, don't buy ?2.50 coffees, and don't buy the real processed crap. But rather they use it for items which are substantially cheaper there than in many other places. My mum (gawd bless 'er) is by a mile the most thrifty person I have ever known (if only I'd inherited this), managing on a very tight budget, and people like her will miss the shop. For a lot of poeple it's great that M&S is coming, and that's all good. I just object to the suggestion that anyone who uses Iceland lives on processed frozen muck.
  6. Can't find the report now, but this blog talks about it http://betterelephant.org/blog/2013/04/09/report-uncovers-corruption-at-the-elephant/

Am really interested in this story. rahrahrah Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Wow, just read that New Statesman article. > Southwark Council officials should be jailed for > such incompetence / negligence. I read another article which showed that several former Southwark housing officers are now working for the developer. Read in to that what you will.
  8. Ours hasn't really kicked in yet, just a couple of reading books...
  9. For every household that ios over the moon with an M&S opening, there will be a family that is gutted about the loss of a shop were they can actually afford to shop. I think it's very sad. The person that wrote the OP may be out of line for saying they're someone that they probably aren't (not sure that makes them a cunt), but I agree with the gist of their post.
  10. Yeah regarding the OP, I can't sign any petition stopping a load of homes being built just so people have an uninterrupted view whilst they sip their beverage from a roof top bar. But any opportunity to highlight the total fuck up that is the Heygate situation is okay with me.
  11. Assuming they were all the original right to buy buyers. And even so, it means nothing in real terms. They have been forced to sell their homes, and given nowhere near enough to buy anything similar anywhere near where they live.
  12. Apparently they fought the CPO and lost. I don't know whether that means they can't challenge the amount. But that displacement map suggests a lot of them have had to move miles away to afford something.
  13. To clarify, I don't claim to know what his motives were, but that's just how I read it.
  14. Homes need to be built, no doubt. But we are talking Southwark http://www.newstatesman.com/politics/2013/11/look-heygate-estate-whats-wrong-londons-housing
  15. I've always thought of an "open letter" as a tool to make public aware of something, which is what I assumed this was. I didn't assume the OP was particularly expecting foxtons to respond on here, but more that he wanted others to look out for this happening so that they too would contact foxtons about it.
  16. Agreed.
  17. I'm amazed at the reactions to the OP which I thought totally reasonable. I'm also grateful it's been brought to my attention.
  18. Life long friends.
  19. So what does it mean?
  20. And as for lolz, just fuck off.
  21. I quite lije FML when used completely inappropriately. But yeah, lol and lmfao are very annoying.

Yeah but when you're missing Sturridge as well you do need some pace, which we looked like we were lacking today.

Shit. The whole team were pretty shit and I've no idea why he didn't start Sterling against a Villa team who have started really well.

Liverpool not exactly looking like world beaters. Hope they sort it out second half.

Early days of course, but Leicester are looking up for having a real go at the PL. Costa doing the biz, but Chelsea yet to be really tested.
