  1. Good point about graphic novels / comics. I think I'd be happy that a 10 year old picked up the book rather than wanting to watch the film. I must say I was NOT a reader as a kid. Started loving books as a teenager, but even then didn't make enough time for reading. I read every day now, and I love seeing my little girl's love for books, which she has inherited form her mum.
  2. The way I have read the judges comments, she seems to be saying "you're guilty as sin and I don't believe a word you say, but there isn't enough evidence to put you away".

Where the hell do these morons find the time to actually write these blogs, and why do they think the rest of the world needs to hear about their bloody life? Sorry, irrational rage moment.
  6. I have two girls with similar age gap, and yes it gets easier (although there will be other things that reek havok along the way). But as Belle says, there is NOTHING wrong with going to the park. People get so hung up these days on having to give their kids different experiences and get them out every day. To be honest, I think half the time my kids are knackered when they're being dragged to something "fun and new", and would much rather be in the local park or playing at home. Getting ready and out the door with two kids can be an absolute bloody nightmare, and I think occasionally kids (like adults) are more than happy to have a quiet day indoors. Mine do anyway. Good luck.

Sweetgirl uses the family section and was greatly supported when her son was allowed to run out of his nursery and was found in the road by a (luckily) kind stranger. So doubt she'll disappear and come back with another name, but the noodle thread was ill judged. Luckily though everyone took the side of the business.

    New friends...

I met some people in the early days of this forum who have become some ofbthe best people I know. And lots of others who I like a lot and share a beer with when I see them.
  9. Oh God, grungy heavy rocky stuff with a high pitched bloke singing. It wasn't pretty but it was great fun for a bunch of teenagers.
  10. No worries. By the way, your username was the name of the first band I was ever in, back in the early 90s.
  11. Haha, I thought the same. Think I'd rather just get a divorce than attend something like this.
  12. Good luck to you and them. I know a thing or two about visual impairment, and how it can hold people back. I would say though, that anyone that thinks being blind would stop you from being a good musician, is a bit of a muppet. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blind_musicians

I remember being at a house party in Liverpool where that album was playing, and it was cool. Then it finished. Then it started again. This happened for the whole night, and I have never listened to that album since. Can't believe it was ?17.99, I don't remember spending that much on CDs, but I guess I must have.
  14. natty01295 are you staking the joint out or something?
  15. According to some bloke on the radio the other day, it's a bit unclear. Because if Scotland joined the EU (which he was suggesting would sort of happen automatically) then the norm for a new member would be to adopt the agreement. But he seemed to think it wouldn't happen because of the unprecedented circumstances.
  16. Woman who runs / owns it seems very nice too, as did her teenaged daughter who has been working there a couple of times when I've been in. It's absolutely fine for people to be sad about losing something nice, but to take against the new business which will open on the premises just because of that, is pretty harsh.
  17. 100% what SJ said! Good luck to you lillyrose. Anyone that think we can all get together and stop a shop from closing (when the owners have decided to sell it and move on) is a moron and not really worth worrying about. For those that want sweets, nip up to Dartmouth Road, there is a place there called sugar fountain or something like that. But having a pop at someone's new venture just because they're moving in to a VACANT property which used to house something you liked is shit.

I wonder whether Danny Welbeck, whilst being interviewed next to Wayne Rooney, wanted to turn around and say "two goals scored... BY THE ARSENAL PLAYER".
  22. More Harris schools.
  23. "My cynical side says the dicks will win" I read that as "My cynical side says Salmond will win". I think Nigel Farage is a dick, but if I said a similar sentence about UKIP, I wouldn't mean every UKIP voter is a dick (this would be different if we were talking BNP). That said, I personally think Salmond is a dick of the highest order so I could be projecting.
  24. ?10 adult. But kids go free so bargain if you're taking a nipper.
