Not sure "spat" would describe it, but I used to enjoy the interaction between *bob* and Alan Dale back in the day. Aw, wonder what ever happened to Alan, is he king of Camberwell yet? Turns out *bob* is looking like a bit of a trouble maker.

Haberdashers' East Dulwich - 751 families supporting

TE44 Why are you pushing this agenda so hard. Whatever did or did not happen about the fraud, it is hitory. James I disagree that "most people" mean the village when they say Dulwich. I grew up in East Dulwich, but when people say to me where abouts are you from, I have always said "Dulwich". Not that it actually matters at all, or will have any effect on my life, but I just think "Haberdashers Aske's Dulwich" is the nicest sounding name. -

Rockets or no rockets? I don't have an answer to that (obviously), but it's beside the point anyway. I don't think anyone sensible would suggest that Israel don't need to do things very differently, but nothing will be done about borders, water, healthcare and the rest as long as fighting continues. Can I just be very clear here. I am not pro Israel, I think a lot of what they do stinks. I shouldn't need to say that, but...

These rockets are not like annoying pebbles being thrown at your window. Israel could stop retaliating. Then the whole world could condemn Hamas for firing rockets. Then Hamas say "like we care what the whole word thinks" Then they continue to fire rockets. What do Israel do then?

"but you honestly think that means we should just say nothing about it at all?" No that's not what I think. Unsurprisingly DaveR has put it much better than I've managed. "I haven't posted recently because there is no debate here - just disagreement, with one side endlessly congratulating itself on how clearly right it is and getting 9mock) indignant about stuff." That's basically what I was trying to say.

When I see old school colleagues on facebook I often wish I'd found a trade at 18 after 6th form, as they seem to be the ones with the most money and nice houses.

Wow indeed. Wow because that's not what I said. "should hace stuck with my inital 'pointless debate' comment." Yep, "debating" something like this from the comford of our safe lives and complete inability to actually impact on the situation is indeed pointless. That's pretty much my point. You know I love you, but when I read things like "I know what Quids is fumbling at" I am put off.

Sadness at changing atmosphere of East Dulwich

"My parents live in Surrey & I've heard them complain about how the area has changed, how the community feel is disappearing, how the new 'range rover' types are rude & pushy. Exactly the same comments that you find on this thread." They're the one's that have had their babies in ED, then move out for more space, same scum. -

That argument makes no sense to me to be honest. -

Sadness at changing atmosphere of East Dulwich

I'm hoping the state will start sending me food vouchers because I can't be trusted not to drink all my money away. -
But that doesn't mean I don't care about the dead, and don't want the violence to stop.
-
Yep, can't be bothered getting involved with your little spats. But tend to agree with his stance on what is happening over there. Fed up with reading (not just on here, but including on here) people trying to show how terribly clever they are whilst not actually knowing they're born. That's why my comments stopped (or paused) on this thread, because unless you're actually a part of it it's all just moralistic BS.

I'm loving the use of the term "indiginous people". I was born in Dulwich, and it used to be great when we could hunt freely and sing our songs around the fires. Then all you fuckers came in and built your houses and penned us in to reservations in Penge. -

James Barber Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hi Grotty, > As an East Dulwich councillor I have to promote East Dulwich rather than amorphous Dulwich. Why James? What difference does it make other than sounding rubbish? As has already been pointed out, it's being (hopefully!!!) built on the site of Dulwich Hospital, not East Dulwich Hospital. -
A colleague (aged 60) went to see it and loved it, but I think it was all about the nostalgia trip for her.
