  1. Actually you're right, when I say nothing not to like about Netherlands I think I'm going back quite some time. Van Persie, Robben yuck! Dirk Kuyt will always be a bit of a hero though, glad he's still getting in their squad.
  2. I think it depends who is saying it. Basically teenagers saying it to adults need a slap.

    David Moyes must be pissed!

I mean you can say what you like about him going to Chelsea and what he's said in the past, but at the end of the day Barca wanted to sell and Arsenal didn't want to buy.

To be fair to PD, I was pretty sick to read that news too. Arsenal should have found the bloody money!
  6. I had similar a while ago (firefox) and ended up resetting firefox which got rid.
  7. That made me laugh Steveo. I hate the "boss" thing too, especially when it's young aggressive idiots intimidating a low paid worker in a chicken / kebab shop.

There aren't a lot of free range pigs around Nunhead unless the place has changed a lot since I was last there.
  9. Never been (not a bit wine drinker), but have heard good things, and just really nice to read a positive thread about a small business doing well.
  10. Whoa, easy tiger. I wasn't actually expecting anyone to get their shoes on and go and look. I wouldn't be arsed doing that either.
  11. Although you have to admit, that dot has floated pretty bloody far, and it does look like Michail. But it's a nothing point.
  12. Indeed, well said. I have quite big respect for James because he sticks his head above the parapet and gets involved for his community. But he can't resist a bit of party politics, and is selective at times over questions he answers / points he acknowledges.
  13. Cheering Argentina - After reading this (http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27703170) I decided Messi deserves to be THAT player at a WC. Cameroon - Who doesn't like them? Brazil, Netherlands, Spain - Quality, and no reason not to like. Cheering / Booing in equal measure Austrlia - Lots of my favourite people are from there, and I loved it there. But they don't need to get good at another sport. United States - Have family there who are well in to their "soccer". But you know, it's the yanks. Booing Portugal - After reading above BBC thing I decided that that player must not be the crying boy. France - (you know) Germany - (see France)
  14. I've got 3 teams (we all have - small team) two of which I don't find out til tomorrow, but today I got Nigeria. I do think an African team will do very well this year, but I am not holding my breath.
  15. Did that come from a school headteacher perchance?

No idea why she's gotten Michael wrong, but it could be that she's crossed out the sincerely so that it just reads Yours, Tessa Which is a friendlier sign off.
  18. They cut too deep. I was a kid in London who didn't gigve a toss about football at that ahe and certainly didn't support Liverpool. I never had any links to anyone hurt on that day. As a result I don't have as strong feelings about The Sun as those that were hurt by it's actions, but I can totally put myself in their place and I think I'd find it hard to forgive the stuff they wrote if it was about people I knew. But Liverpool aside, it's still a rag, and the worst of the tabloids.
  19. But that being said, it would be nice to see sone other providers in the mix. And RE politicians, I think mostnofnus realise you're a necessary evil ;-)
  20. I think people's issue is simply that these families in Peckham and Nunhead need a school in Peckham or Nunhead, not in East Dulwich (getting on for North Dulwich). Sorry but it just seems like a rubbish plan. I'm not anti Harris at all, they've taken over schools like Warwick Park and Waverly and made them work, and I was very impressed with the Harris school near me that we're thinking about moving our daughter to.

Back in 96 when he was still a popular figure in the press, he was at this posh golf club the day my cousin had her wedding reception there. He was really cool about posing fkr a couple of photos and playing the clown for a couple of minutes. Absolutely no impatient celebrity that has no time for the public vibe at all.
  22. Those who are Facebook friends may have already seen this from me, but anyway. I cane home yesterday and my next door neighbour was outside his flat hanging two large England flags to the front of our block. (I don't mind that at all) Stopped and chatted briefly, and asked how he thiught we'd get on. He said "the only thing that can stop us is the heat, we've got youth". He really meant it too. I tried very hard to smile amd not look pitying. Bless him, I don't know whether it's better to have that optimism and be crushed, or be more realistic and never kniw what it's like to be that positive.
  23. Can you? I've only ever taken one melee weapon out at a time.
  24. If you have a sword you can't punch, but rifles are separate so you can shoot as well as punch/stab
  25. What is currently on the site of the old Waverly lower school (bottom of Friern Road)? Haven't been down that way for ages, and street view doesn't show me much.
