  1. Or more if they thought the bin might be full of a higher quality scrap... (or indeed bank accounts with more money to steal if that was their game).
  2. Even more so if it was true ;-)
  3. Not difficult to compute at all, I just don't see what the state of the front garden has to do with it.
  4. Keep meaning to watch Let the right one in, but yet to get around to it. Have heard nothing but good things.
  5. This from someone who told another poster to "get over yourself". So your issue is basically having a couple of Eastern European women in your front garden just makes the place look untidy. Right then.
  6. What is a notable front garden?
  7. THANKYOU!!!! I'm pleased people got involved and didn't just ignore the situation, but come on!
  8. I want to watch some of the foreign stuff but I genuinely struggle keeping up with the subtitles due to my crap eyes, sonit becomes kess enjoyable. Main reason I've not finished Lilyhammer season 2. I could be wrong but it seems to have a lot more subtitles than the first series. *bob* you're right about investing the time to repeat something. I got lucky with BB because I watched it on my own first then Mrs Otta decided she was interested after all so we watched it together. That was up to the final season which we watched for the firat time together as it came out.
  9. Fair play. Like me and Dexter, so many people tell me it's genius but it just didn't do it for me. But genuinely wnjoyed BB second time round and noticed lots od clever little things. As for The Wire, I watched that twice but can't really imagine doing it again simply because all my favourite characters died and I really thought season 5 didn't live up to it's 4 predecessors (I loved season 4 possibly best).
  10. StraferJack Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > BB - that's some emperor's new cloths stuff right > there. i doubt many people could stand to rewatch > it BB as in Breaking Bad? Are you joking??? I've watched it twice and LOVED it second time around. And can see myself watching it again one day. Genuinely think it's up there with anything you could mention.
  11. Mad Men has been great, but I'm bored with it now and amglad it will finish next year. Band of Brothers just didn't do it for me, but I'm not big on war films so that's hardly surprising.
  12. I probably will try the books at some stage, especially now there's such a wait for the next season. I was thinking of revisiting Deadwood the other day, as I really really liked it, but I just don't want to be left feeling so unsatisfied at the sudden ending after season 3. Such a bloody shame that show stalled and they never got to make the two "films" (for TV) to tie a few things up.
  13. I'm not missing the point, and I wouldn't exactly welcome that behaviour, but equally I just wouldn't be so bothered about it as you would.
  14. Think House of Cards is next for us. Started Orange is the new black, but stalled. Then again, it took me about 3 tries to get through the very first episode of GoT, so should probably try to stick with it. I remember people (SJ) saying The Wire was a slow starter, but I was hooked from the very start.
  15. We're loving GoT in the Otta household. Mrs Otta thought she'd hate it (all the dragon stuff), but she's totally hooked, and it's going to be a long year waiting for Season 5. I'm tempted to give the books a go, but have been told by a couple of people that they can be a bit of a chore, and not sure I can be arsed when I know roughly what's going to happen (at least for the first 3 books). Sort of SPOILER ALERT I thought The Hound deserved better from little miss psychopath. I'm struggling to really care about her story or her young brother's.
  16. No one knows for sure what their intentions are. I was guessing scrap after watching Benefits Street where a family of Romanians were basically going around collecting scrap, and other residents were moaning because they'd gone through bin bags and stuff. Of course I don't KNOW that that's what they're doing, but it's just as likely (or more so) as looking for personal info. Either way, I honestly just don't get why people are so upset about people going through their bloody bins. So what, it's the shit you've thrown out.

  18. It's the council's bin actually.
  19. Of course they're not dead, but all they'll ever be is ideology.
  20. What have the Tories got to do with anything? They shouldn't technically be going on to people's property, that I think is the issue. If a bin is on the pavement, I'm not sure they are doing anything illegal. They should wait til bin day and get out early! I suspect they are after things with scrap value rather than personal data, but I've got no more proof of that than NunheadRising has that they're after your bank statements.
  21. I was a couple of months off of my 19th birthday when he came to power in 1997. I didn't vote for him because 1. He had a smile that made me want to slap him. 2. He tried to buddy up with Oasis, and I was a blur kinda guy. Frankly I feel as though I was probably better off making my political decisions based on that kind of criteria.
  22. How on earth do you know what they were looking for? Why would they need shopping trollies for bank statements? And if you put your statement in the bin in one piece you're a bloody idiot.
  23. Who am I kidding. The 5 - 7 matches are basically a no go because the TV in our house will be in kid mode. I'm lucky if I've taken control in time for the 8pm KO. Anyway, its Game of Thrones night, so might take a night off the world cup. Thought Bosnia walked away from last night with some pride.
  24. I need a second TV, I could just put her in front of Frozen / Tangled et al all day whilst I played!
