  1. Do you know that they did? And if they did but didn't get the answer they wanted, should they then have tried storming in? It looked aggresive and cheap, much like most of the reporting on ITV.
  2. Couldn't they have tried calling to arranged a meet an an appropriate time?

I hate OFSTED on so many levels.
  4. http://www.itv.com/news/london/2014-05-15/boy-manages-to-walk-out-of-a-nursery-totally-unnoticed/ You have a cute kid. I do think that that report was unfair on the nursery though, as it looks like he just walked up whilst they probably had kids in there. Please don't get me wrong sweetgirl, if I was you I'd have been livid, but I think it would be shame if the nursery doesn't have a chance to make amends and sort things out.
  5. I know this sounds lame, but try to remember that at that age they're so adaptable, hopefully he'll have forgotten all about it pretty quickly... I totally sympathise with you thouggh. It's bad enough wondering how your kids are all day without having had something like that happen.
  6. "Sadly I think if there is a tv item on this nursery, it'll be difficult for this nursery to survive." Yep that's my feeling too. I don't blame sweetgirl at all, but the lazy "journalism" that goes on with people reading these forums and making inflated stories really gets my goat. Anyone remember the guy from the MIND Shop ending up with his face in a rag of a paper because he didn't like someone breastfeeding in the changing room? Bloody disgusting even if you disagreed with his behaviour.
  7. To be fair to SJ, the phone is only employed on accasions when he's forgotten his actual e-reader. I don't have one myself, and I love books, but I have tried my wife's kindle, and they are actually nice to read from.

They've clearly made a huge mistake and should acknowledge and learn from it, but if there is a rally to get the place closed then all that will happen is the area will lose a valuable resource. I have first hand (sort of) experience of OFSTED closing a preschool with immediate effect, and it's really not a pleasant thing for anyone, especially the children who have no idea why their world has just been pulled from under their feet.
  9. PT in both this and the wee thread you are taking the OP's perspective as gospel. I'm not calling the OP a liar, but we don't kniw how the situation played out from the perspective of the skater.
  10. Have you switched from prem to wc? (drop down on the prediction page)
  11. Yeah I'll join the e reader revolution one day.
  12. These days I wouldn't dream of skating down a road, as it's been a looooooong time since I was a regular skater and I'd probably end up on my backside or worse. But when I was a teenager I'd happily skate in the roads (not busy roads like say Barry, and definitely not main roads) and don't believe I was a danger to any other road user because I could control my skateboard well.

That doesn't say that you can't skate in the road though, it just basically says don't act like a moron. I won't comment on how he was skating because I didn't see it, but if he just came off his board accidently then that's no different to a cyclist coming off their bike. He shouldn't have run off, but we don't know how he was being spoken to and he might have just gotten scared. PokerTime Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > A skateboard has no brakes. It has only limited > control. Yes it's pretty stupid for someone to > skateboard down a road that motor vehicles and > cyclists are using. That's all I'm trying to say. A skateboard does have a brake of sorts, and a half decent skater can control their board more than well enough and stop very suddenly if need be.
  14. There is no excuse for this. However good or bad a nursery / preschool is in other areas, security / watching the doors should be the absolute minimum requirement! And okay, sometimes an error happens, but they should have been absolutely mortified, and it sounds as though they just tried to shrug it off which is pretty disgusting quite frankly.

  16. I think you can get overtired as an adult. I kind of get this second wind, but feel a bit manic and wired. Basically it's a bit like when the class A's start to wear off.
  17. Haha, "scanning a mirror doesn't work".
  18. Getting on the train, opening your bag and realising you forgot your book.
  19. We have a DYSON DC50 which is one of their top range vacuums. I hate it! Yes it is powerful and picks up a lot of dust, but it is forever getting blocked and I am forever taking it apart and manually pulling dirt out of it. And the hose bit is too short and pretty crap. Really unimpressed with Dyson to be honest. We started with a chordless thing a couple of years back, which just died within a week of the guarantee expiring. They then offered me a good price (still way more than I'd have planned to spend) on the DC50, and I just don't think their gear is worth the money.
  20. Cool, I've signed up.

Where did anyone say that pizza is only kid's food? The Gowlett is a pub, I've already said on this thread that pizzas are great for pubs.
  22. I'd recommend applying some thickening agent to your skin then. This really is not offensive.
