I just looked at the pay scales for my employer (a London Local Authority), and the bottom scale pays out in incriments as follows. 7.9078 7.9701 8.0388 8.1874 8.4016 8.6110 8.7644 8.8683 MAX So you'd have to be in that job a while to work your way up to the top of the scale and hit ?8.80. I AM NOT SAYING THIS IS RIGHT!!!!!! But if a local authority aren't paying LLW, this illustrates just how pointless it is banging on about Picturehouse. Edit because the data all came out funny.

You can't. But not everyone is an idividual looking to put a roof over their head. Some are living at home, some are living with their partner who works full time, and are going out to bring a bit extra in. You can't assume that everyone is a single person desperately trying to scrape their rent together.

I getting quite worried. The nearer we get to the fight the more I'm thinking that Groves might get slaughtered. Really want him to win. But sorry no, I have no idea where it's showing. And Jeremy is stuck in an Italian hospital so he won't be around for it.

I enjoyed that.

Well said DaveR.

Wow, it turns out there was a new series last year starting where the 80s one left off. That's quite the gap! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mysterious_Cities_of_Gold Anyway sorry, back to old games.

Whilst we're doing childhood memories... Not a game, but the giant eagle thing made me think of this

RE The Living Wage thing, it would be great if the gov turned around tomorrow and forced the issue, but being as they won't do that, and no other business is doing much at all, I think it's good that Picturehouse are in ongoing discussions with staff and unions. And none of this addresses the issue of why a London Living Wage is even required, and it's not all about house prices, it's the London premium on everything, the need for which is shown to be bollocks by those businesses that choose not to take thge piss. And I tend to agree with Maxxi that Picturehouse's prices to suit the local area probably means that the ED Picturehouse will be a bloody expensive way to see a film. But time will tell on that one I guess.

I agree with this post. I've always agreed with your stance on this, I just didn't agree with the way you "spoke" to people that disagreed with you, which is why I said you are "coming across as a bit of a prick today", before immediately clarifying that I didn't think you were a prick in general. But if you want to keep dragging it up and playing the wounded party, go for your life. If you honestly feel you've been insulted though, I'd suggest you develop a thicker skin, or when someone does actually insult you you'll be throwing yourself off a bridge in despair.

Can Picturehouse give us an idea what prices will be? Will it be the same as the Ritzy, or have it's own price list?

I'd like everyone to be paid well enough to live, but equally I agree with those that question why Picturehouse are seemingly being singled out.

"That brings their pay to ?7.24 an hour. How the hell can anyone in London live on that?!" Depends who we're talking about surely. If it's a young person living at home and not paying out any rent, I think they could have a pretty good time earning that. If it's someone in a family with 2 kids, then not so much.

Never heard of Calamity Jane Kel?

I have heard the Hardship Lane thing in the past to be fair.

Actually ZT, I said I don't think you're a prick, but I said you were acting like one because you started getting rude and a bit personal. But why let the truth ruin a good sob story huh? I too agree that it's a bit harsh for the Picturehouse to be singled out, but I guess as their staff kicked up a fuss, their name is linked with the issue. But I suspect if we were talking about something less desirable than a cinema, you wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the issue.

Originally it just meant a well turned out attractive mother as far as I know.

I miss the days when yummy mummy just meant a more polite way of saying MILF. Now it's just shorthand for mother that lives in East Dulwich.

With councillors I don't think it makes a bit of difference what party they are, it just depends what sort of person they are as an individual. I wouldn't vote for Lib Dem in a GE as long as Nick Clegg is boss, but I'd vote James Barber if I was in his area, because he does a hell of a lot. I wouldn't base my choice for the GE on what the local councillors did or didn't do.

I guess what with the Moyes sacking, taking over as interim boss, then uncertainty iver his future with the new boss, it just kind if got overshadowed.
