  1. Absolutely right Saffron. Personally I have huge issues with some of the companies that make the formulas, because of the third world issues, but no issue with a mother making that choice, or being forced to take that path for whatever reason.
  2. A nice (IMO) thread about kids & parents in public, with contributions from parents and non parents. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,995369 Edit to correct link
  3. Good blog about the state of Liverpool http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/philmcnulty/2012/11/time_for_liverpool_to_start_wi.html

  5. Indeed LondonMix! Randombloke "it?s the sense of entitlement and self-righteousness that he finds distasteful." He and I both!!!! When I see small babies left in prams for ages, even when they cry, I want to scream at parents "Pick him/her up for the love of God!". I'd pick them up myself if it wouldn't get me arrested!
  6. Excellent spot Woodrot, enjoyed reading that. Fely inclined to add a comment at the end, simply because I felt sorry for the ex managers, and sort of wanted to say "I told you so".
  7. What Nanny, Michael Palaeologus, and LondonMix said! I am a parent, I love my kids, but even I wince at their racket at times, and I wouldn't want to put everyone else through that. As Michael so rightly says, it's not the majority of parents, it's the inconsiderate parents that cause the problems for rest. Unfortunately, these inconsiderate parents are so noticeable, that people tend to tar all parents with the same brush, because the considerate parents don't get noticed (because they are being considerate). I wish a couple of businesses in the area would just take the plunge and say they'd rather not have kids in. Of course the Family Room would be up in arms, but why? ED is full of pubs and cafes, would it really be so bad for parents if there was ONE pub that didn't allow kids in? On that thread about The Gardens Cafe, several people said things like "why shouldn't I enjoy a chat and a coffee in the mornings?". No one said you couldn't, but just have it in one of the MANY other places around, or, go to each other's houses! Personally I can't for the life of me understand why people take their kids to the pub. I can't relax in the pub when my kids are there, and frankly, the chance to go to the pub these days is a blessed chance to rid myself of them for a couple of hours!

  9. That is quite funny, but don't think it means anything. Actually I was pleased listening to the radio commentary that they said he was keeping his hands clean and just getting on with it. We need more of that from him, and without him we'f be totally fucked.
  10. Is this all sorts of music events, or strictly classical stuff?

    X factor

It is not a "fix" in the way that some people are suggesting, the public are just manipulated by the pantomime of the whole thing. Anyone voting for Christopher should be ashamed, I think the bloke has mental health issues quite frankly.

What do you want to see the BBC do? And do you think Entwistle was right to / should have resigned?

I'm with Pickle regarding Jahmene. Just wasn't feeling it last night.
  14. Sounds like Cleverly put in a good performance to stop his man (who had never been stopped) in the 8th, after putting him down twice in the 7th. A good exciting show in America may open up some new doors and respectable opponents now... Apparently Golden Boy promotions might take him on, and that would surely be a good thing for him. Elsewhere Wlad stops another nobody, although he was rocked once by a huge right.

I don't like James (pained voice), but he was the best last night followed by Ella IMO. Since Lucy left I've reached the point *bob* describes where you stop enjoying it, but put yourself through it anyway. I just hate Christopher!

Iguess what I'm saying is that it's like sacking a highly paid football manager after 5 matches. He never had a chance to look at the situation and clean up what neded cleaning up (not covering up, just to be clear).

Yes it did, but who would be comfortable at this sort of depth? I'm not a supporter or detractor of the guy I just think he landed in a massive pile of shit.

Poor bastard, arrived in to this mess and got totally screwed IMO. I hate to see the little man fall, but equally the top guy shouldn't necessarily fall on his sword.
  19. I have just become a QueenMab fan! (not that I wasn't a fan before)
  20. No worries. I've grown to quite enjoy watching the odd Sunday match in The Castle since the demise of the CPT. They have a great jukebox too!
  21. I wouldn't judge any adult for what they eat, God knows I like fried chicken and kebabs too much to even consider judging anyone else. I buy my older one buttons sometimes, as pure bribery. I know it's not particularly good, but there are far worse things I could do for her health, so I just figure why not. She has no sweets though, and only drinks water, milk and occasional juice, and I hope to keep to that for as long as possible... (which probably won't be long at all once she's in school proper). As far as I'm concerned, they generally have good healthy meals, so the occasional chips or chocolate won't do too much harm.
  22. Surely keeping your child safe, loving it and caring for it = proper mum. No?
  23. Heard Danny Mills on Radio 5 along with Alan Greene today, I was well impressed, I think he's been to dictionary school since his playing days!
  24. Sorry Quids, but it wasn't very clear. I hadn't heard about the This Morning thing with Philip Schofield, and when I looked at your link it didn't mention him, that's why I was confused. Anyway, I agree that he should at very least make an apology (as should his show producers), very misguided! RE The BBC, obviously big errors have been made, but I'm not sure where the political bias you talk about is. They have made a huge hash of this though, particularly after last week, I am very surprised that anything on this subject was allowed to air without the green light from the very top, which I suspect it never had.
  25. Do you mean the games that are on british telly, or the dodgy 3pm games? The Castle show the Sky games, as does the EDT and I think The Actress. Don't know anywhere for the 3pm games though.
