  1. Please look at my post again, I have not said that people in your position are pathetic, quite the opposite. Please stop taking anything I say personally. It's always the same when you try to have a discussion on this forum, people assume you're attacking them. In the post right before yours I said I don't claim to be an expert on 11 year olds, so if some can make a decision on their choice of secondary school that's great and I see nothing wrong in that. The reason I said that was specifically so that you and anyone in a similar position would not think I was calling them pathetic. Good old EDF Family Room.
  2. I assume some streets would be easier to get the go ahead than others which are well used by traffic?
  3. I don't claim to be an expert on 11 year olds, so if some can make a decision on their choice of secondary school that's great and I see nothing wrong in that. I would strongly argue though with any parent who said they couldn't find a single school to suit their child within their home borough or the neighbouring boroughs. Some parents believe that their child should go to "the best" school, wherever that may be, because of a sense of entitlement, and I find that pathetic. If you disagree with me that's fine, but it's still my opinion.
  4. Couple more comments from BBC website. GET INVOLVED Paul Wilkinson on Twitter: "If it costs as much to see League 1 game as to go to Cheltenham Festival something is very wrong." Peanut on Twitter: "Can't recall my first match, was too young. Dad took me home/away for years. My lad's 13, could only ever afford the odd game."
  5. Look I'm not trying to argue with you, but you quoted me and were clearly keen to prove that you were not a pushy parent, and that is great. It sounds like you did exactly the right thing in your daughter's case. Well done you.
  6. " Shaun, a Liverpool supporter, on 5 live Your Call: "I've been 36 years a season ticket holder at Anfield, but this is my last season. I've been all over the world following Liverpool, but I've just had enough. It's too much. We have a ?140m wage bill. If Liverpool cut their wage bill by 10% they could afford to drop the ticket prices ?15 per match per person. But they won't do it. "Without the fans there is no football, and I think clubs need to remember that. We are the golden goose. Don't kill us off. I've got four children I'd love to take to the match, but I can't afford it." Spot on that man.
  7. And that is great, your daughter was clearly well informed. If you think every child is the same, I would suggest you're wrong.
  8. Yeah A Levels are a different kettle of fish, you're old enough to make a decision on such things, and a year or two later you could be leaving home all together for uni. An 11 year old is different though IMO.
  9. I don't think it's harsh, and I'm not talking about a school in Westminster or Pimlico. But I think people should support their local(ish) schools. If you want to spend thousands on private education that is your lookout (although I wouldn't even if I did have that sort of cash), but if you can't afford it you should send your kid to a school reasonably close to home and get behind that school. Making your kid travel miles away every day just so they can live out your ambitions is pathetic, and I make no apology for that belief even if it is unpopular.
  10. "Somalia, Liverpool or Romania" Hahahahahahaha
  11. I think that people who send their kids miles away to good schools are a bit pathetic. Just a personal opinion.

    X factor

And now she is doing a photo call with the kids, and anyone taking their own photos will be ejected from the venue. She is also selling t-shirts, leggings, badges and lots of other expensive things that kids will demand of their parents. But she's working hard at it, so fair play.

Otta Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I was surprised about Melanie, but I thought Kitty > was good a year or two ago Weirdly I am currently in a Haven holiday camp listening to Kitty's live set. To give her her dues, she is singing well and has back up dancers and the full on look and stage show. She seems to talk with an American accent now though, and I can't see her ever getting beyond this circuit.
  14. *flushes Mick's head down toilet*
  15. *sneaks up behind *bob** WEDGEY!
  16. Totally agree about Serbia. Can't believe that the lad being racially and physically abused was shown a red card.
  17. I've got an Early Rider you can have for ?30. It's definitely "used", but still in good working order.
  18. Looks like some nasty scenes in Serbia.
  19. That must make watching peppa pig difficult when George is on screen ;-)

RosieH Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Alan, as for why girls are considered more mature, > if you look at the NHS website, it states that > girls hit puberty slightly earlier and reach full > sexual maturity earlier. This is basically what I personally took from Huguenot's initial post. However, I do think hr was making some mischief in name checking RosieH. Rosie clearly apologied for the perceived meaning of her response, but as usual people either didn't get it, or decided to shit stir. H should have left it there, but then where would the drama be. God bless the EDF. NOTHING TO SEE!!! (But annoyingly captivating)

  22. The really sad thing is that if anyone will fight him, he'll probably continue. The Wlad and Vitali like an easy fight...

I was surprised about Melanie, but I thought Kitty was good a year or two ago, but the voters don't seem to like women over 25. I like Lucy. I thought Rylan starting with Back for Good was brilliant.

  25. My daughter. There is a big twitling slide near us and she used to go on it again and again. She'd also go on the biggest slide at Wells Park. Then one day she wouldn't, and now she won't go on any slide, and she's reverted to getting on her hands and knees and going down steps backwards. No big deal, but I've no idea why.
