  1. Just to add, I've got the go ahead from The Half Moon, so once we get the bands this WILL happen. Probably late September / early October...
  2. Both sound good to me KK, would be cool to have a mix of styles. No date as yet, will arrange a date once I know I have the bands...
  3. Hello Our band Zonderlings are a bit frustrated at the lack of South London venues for original bands to do gigs. So, we've decided to just put our own night on. I know the manager of the Half Moon, Hearne Hill, and have played there a couple of times with a covers band I was with. The plan is that we'll hire the venue for the evening, which includes PA, and sound tech. We need 3 or 4 other bands to all come and play 30 - 45 minutes sets. Anything goes really, but original material would be good. We'll charge a fiver or so on the door, and once our initial expenses for venue hire have been covered, whatever is left will be divided equally. We won't make a fortune, but it'll buy a few beers, and should make for a cracking evening. Let me know if you're interested. Ideally reasonably local bands who could bring a good crowd along. Cheers.
  4. I dunno man, we were right outside the place about to go in, and it was bloody loud.
  5. On Saturday my wife and I went for a rare meal together on Lordship Lane, and afterwards we walked to the GE for a quick drink before picking the kids up. Upon arrival we heard the noise, and decided to forget it. Went to get the kids from my parent's half way down Whateley Road, and could still hear it loud and clear. I was shocked, the CPT used to get busy on summer nights with people sat outside, but never noisy like that. Bloody rugger bugger types who can't handle their drink.
  6. The paddling pool seems to have a puncture.
  7. Before letting Mel B anywhere near these people, someone should show her those old Spice Girls audition videos.
  8. Well I hope you're wrong, but early signs (waiting for 80 minutes before playing Carroll) suggest otherwise.
  9. Chippy, I'm not necessarily disagreeing with anything you say, but you do seem to have a bit of a gripe with Rogers. Is there a particular reason, or does he just rub you up the wrong way?
  10. And a back line obviously.
  11. To be fair, I think 3-0 isn't a real reflection of that match. That said, I can't deny that Liverpool need a lot of work. They also need a goal scorer!!! Carroll should have been given much more time today.
  12. Oh dear, Brendan Rogers must be wishing he'd stayed at Swansea. New striker doesn't look up to much. Gutted for Joe Cole, his luck stinks. Surprised to see QPR so battered, thought they made some good signings.
  13. I think I'd find a holiday abroad compmetely depressing with the kids. Haven here we come!
  14. 3 golden oldies that I've only seen for the first time since this thread started 12 Angry men To kill a mockingbird (watched after reading the book for the first time. Love the book, love the film) Brief encounter (wonder if the writer of Before Sunrise is a fan?)
  15. Very surprised at City's lack of spending this summer. Man U will either be awesome, or they'll scrape by, but either way, they'll win it.
  16. What do people think of Driver? I appreciated the style it was done in, but basically thought it was just an overly graphic violent load of rubbish.
  17. Just on the way to band rehearsal. It's likely to be uncomfortably hot in the room.
  18. "unless the applicant does the decent thing and withdraw it " This is tyhe sort of thing I hate seeing from you James. I'm not for the lisense, but your totally biased opinions as a member of the council are very annoying.

Absolutely, wasn't having a go at football. It was probably like watching the first friendly after Euro 96.
  20. I sat watching last night thinking how boring it was compared to the olympics. But an international friendly is never going to set the world alight I guess. Still hoping Liverpool add another couple of players, but suspect funds are not available.
  21. Want to play with my new guitar pedal but the kids are asleep.
  22. Seeing wheelchair rugby first hand is a sight to behold, they crash in to each other proper full on top speed!
  23. "If your child repeatedly behaves in an unacceptable manner during classes, we reserve the right to terminate his/her lessons immediately WITHOUT REFUND. However, we will do our level best to talk through and resolve any problems before taking this step We pride ourselves on our level of personal service and are always willing to help" There is no way that a child with ADHD falls under this pile of crap.
  24. Absolutely awful attitude from this organisation! Totally agree with UDT's post (which is unsettling for me). Please don't just forget this, this company need to learn that they can't treat SEN kids in this way, and to refuse a discount is absolutely unbelievable.
  25. You'd have thought that with the money spent on the olympics they could have stretched to a bit more gold!
