Even if a funk bassist is the best bassist in the world (which he may well be), that doesn't mean that funk is the best music in the world. That is just childish logic. Here is a good bassist by the way (playing with one of the best guitarists I desperately want UDT's absolute favourite track to be used in a TV ad, and become a huge hit as a result!

Everybody's taste = different Different taste does not = superior. A lot (not all) "commercial music" is commercial because it's good and a lot of people wanted to buy it and listen to it. Not all commercial music is produced by the likes of Simon Cowell.

It turns out a pupil referral unit is an interesting place to be on GCSE results day. Particularly when some very bad planning means you are conducting job interviews at the same time!

That seems more likely for the planning! Apparently Ronnie Biggs (who wasn't even a big part of the robbery) used to use the Cherry Tree, so I imagine the legend has grown from that.

MsB, I have no beef with you, but yesterday you accused Jeremy and El Pibe of bullying you on your personal shopper thread. I was gobsmacked at that accusation! I agree that new users may find the humour on here off putting when they are not used to it, and start a thread with a reasonable question, but equally, if you decide to use a public forum you need to accept that the public will respond and may not share your views.

I must admit I wasn't totally comfortable about this thread, but I don't think quoting exactly what someone has already put out there is bullying. I don't think there is anything nasty on here, and I suspect UDT is actually quite pleased.

Yeah you said that already. Several times. Perhaps you could save up your egg boxes and go there in the dead of night and do a DIY soundproofing. -

djsenior, you over egg the pudding, and people lose sympathy. There has been a pub there for over a century, and whilst I admit it was VERY loud last Saturday, it isn't like that every night by any stretch. -

My girlfriend from my uni days swore absolutely blind she'd seen 2 ghosts in her room in halls. I never saw anything, but she definitely believed what she was saying, so much so that she had the priest in. She wasn't the only one in her hall either.

UDT I'm genuinely not trying to take the p!ss, but why would you want to spend ?280 on a pair of bloody jeans? If that is your thing then fair enough, but if I had ?280 spare to spend on myself, I'd be buying something to enjoy, not a pair of jeans.
