  1. And just because you don't like dog fights and badger baiting, why should I miss out!
  2. Double post
  3. Oh, and I'm not against it being controlled, as that would get the dealers off the street, which was the only thing I was suggesting. I'm sorry though, I'll go along with comparisons between alcohol and any other recreational drug, but heroin is fucking evil, and not many people come back from it. Plus, lots of people use alcohol socially at the weekend, or do a line of coke, or smoke a joint on a Saturday night. People on heroin don't just do it at the weekend to have a better night!
  4. Piers, if heroin was as available as alcohol, do you think those figures would stay the same? Thought not.
  5. My post was simply based on the fact that Heinz seemed so shocked at DJ suggesting dealers should be locked up, and suggested that locking to these poor dealers was not a far cry from prohibition. I mean, WTF?
  6. Totally agree with DJ, How you can get to compare them, is beyond me Heinz. Also, do you not think it would be rather a good thing to get heroin off the streets?
  7. Just watched the Fury fight, and I was pretty impressed with him. Took some shots, but was well in control. Not seen Khan, but by all accounts, a well well deserved victory, so fair play to you... ... Even if you do have a stupid Bolton accent.
  8. Well said indeed.
  9. But my depth of sadness is equal for > both. I think that is just being human. I'm not human then. 100 odd people killed by some mentalist. That trumps most things in my book.
  10. Being, no I'm not looking for an argument at all. What in the text you quoted makes you think I am? Zeban, what exactly has been tasteless?
  11. The biggest shame is that she ever met that scumbag she married. Being as you know very little about any of us Zeban, I'd suggest you good back with the assumptions.
  12. Agreed.
  13. Perfect sense.
  14. I've read the thread again, and I'm sorry, but I don't think I've been tasteless or disrespectful. I've said from the start it's all very sad.
  15. Nonsense. Whilst I agreed with Strafer that perhaps it's easier to comment on something like her death than something like this, I still think it's weird how the coverage and comments have been divided between the two.
  16. Sorry you think that, but I said right away that it is tragic, I just don't think the fact she was a talented and famous musician makes it any more tragic than any other death. I don't agree with all the waste of talent talk, as it suggests to me that if she wasn't talented, it wouldn't be such a shame. The real tragic thing is that she ever came across heroin in the first place. The aspect that I find sad, is that she knew what a mess she was, and she couldn't escape it.
  17. Zeban, who has disrespected her death? I can't see anyone who hasn't said it's tragic.
  18. Lucky they don't then. Live and let live, and all that.
  19. He asked whether it was a good business idea. That has nothing to do with whether you find tattoos offensive or not.
  20. You can take the girl out of Wigan...
  21. I agree with either Steve Punt, or Hugh Dennis from The Now Show (can't remember which one) last week. All papers are a waste of time. Use that hour or 2 to read a good book instead.
  22. We just use large muslin squares.
  23. Strafer made the good point in the Amy Winehouse thread, that perhaps it's easier to comment on something like her death than something like this, because this is just too big to get your head around. My wife told me about this yesterday when I woke up, just as facts were still coming through. I hold my hands up, and admit that my first thought was that it must be some sort of Al Qaeda attack. In a very odd way, I was pleased it was a Christian nutter, as it will mean less hate and vitriol aimed at your average Muslim in the street, by dickheads. Regarding the victims, I don't really have the words to express anything. Just so so senseless and sad!
  24. To be honest, I never really got what all the fuss was about with her music. Yes she was talented, but unfortunately all she did was pave the way for the likes if Duffy and Paloma Faith. I'm basically with Rosie on this. It's tragic, especially for her old man, but it's not really any surprise, and it pales in to absolute insignificance when compared to other things going on in London, let alone the rest of the world.
