  1. Just to re-re-wind a but, I have never heard the word ponce used as a homophobic jibe. Equally, Ted apologised for any offence caused, but explained what he had actually meant, which clearly was not homophobic so perhaps as well as accepting his gracious apology, it might also be polite to aknowledge that you misunderstood his post.
  2. Isn't the blue brick now a veggie cafe? That would make more sense.
  3. Agreed. At the end of the day, if you want to eat meat, you have to accept that a nasty deed is required, be it a bullet to the head, a stun gun, a slit throat,a piano from the 5th story. The animal has to die. It's the torturesque aspect of FG production which sets it aside IMO.
  4. Indeed, although I have to say that I always loved Eubank. He was more of a comedy panto villan type, but could be so mean in the ring (until the whole Watson thing). Hamed took it a step further, and crossed the line from panto villan, to cocky little scrote who needed a slap. But he was so exciting with his unique style (until Barrera showed that you just had to keep going around in a circle the wrong way, and Hamed couldn't touch you). Khan is very good, and I'm sure he's a nice lad, but he doesn't come across well, making stupid "big man" comments, which just make him sound like a knob... ,,, Plus there's that stupid Bolton accent!
  5. This one was on the Apprentice a year or 2 back, and I thought it looked brilliant for travel.
  6. It's on Primetime, so is viewable, but I doubt anywhere will stay open to show it.
  7. Probably because Khan can't help saying things like If people watch it, it's because they want to see him get knocked the f**k out. A shame, as it should be a cracker, but he just isn't very likable I'm afraid. I think it's the Bolton accent.
  8. *Bob* Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Give it time. > > Most cocaine is probably ethical these days anyway - on account of not actually having any cocaine in it. Ha ha, so very true! "Pub grub" seems to be the common term these days.
  9. Doner kebab anyone?
  10. Not half as many as East London though!
  11. Wow, chill people.
  12. For the record, I don't think battery hens have feeders to flock to. I think it is a large trough (so?) that is constantly topped up by machine, and they keep going to it, because that is their life. Not good, I know. Don't see one as better or words than the other though, and suspect you do strafer, simply because you're a well known good snob, who probably wouldn't touch dirty chicken with your worst enemy's barge pole.
  13. If he has no support, businesses won't listen, so nor a problem. If be as lots of support then he has a mandate. StraferJack Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Out of interst Otta, that seriouseats link, what > bits of it do you find problematic? Or is it > something else which they aren't saying? The farm they talk about is clearly the best, and try to do things as nicely as possible. However, the bird still spends the final 3.5 weeks of it's 15 week life being force fed 3 times a day. More to the point though, as the article says, there is no doubt that the far less ethical farms are out there, and as long as the product is sold, these farms will exist (unless regulations change). Anyway, I'm just a hypocrite who has just enjoyed chicken & chips for ?2.50. >:D<
  14. Matter of opinion I guess, but there is no MIGHT BE about it IMO, and your links don't prove otherwise for me. Thomas, if you decide to take on battery chicken farms, I suggest you avoid Newham.
  15. I never equated them, O just called myself a hypocrite for going on about cruelty.
  16. That video StraferJack posted just struck me as a man who likes good food trying to justify it to himself. It certainly didn't disprove any cruelty IMO. I wouldn't call people "evil" though.
  17. I tried it once, when a friend ordered it at The Palmerston. Thought it tasted nice, but not so great as to justify the disgusting way that it's produced. Certainly not when you can get lovely pates that don't involve such cruelty. This and veal are both wrong IMO. However, I'm a hypocrite, as I do enjoy the odd KFC, and the way that chicken are farmed for these places is just as cruel really. Read "Two Caravans" by Marina Lewycka for a horrific insight (told in a funny way).

Would that be acceptable? No it wouldn't be acceptable, and I understand what you're saying, but this is just trash TV, I don't think it's worth etting particularly upset about.
  19. Great idea Kimmy. Tend to agree with Moos regarding having little ones session, and slightly bigger ones session.
  20. She's just acting up, no big harm as far as I can see. Whoever made the video, and added that nonense at the end, is the real tw@t.
  21. I could be wrong, but I thought it was given to her by Dulwich Collge.
  22. You'd have thought a different username would have been wise, in order to trick people in to clicking a link. Can someone clued up on these things explain, is this likely to be a bot, or a human who's Job it is to spam webaites?
  23. "As things stand all they are guilty of is words on a street corner and that is NOT an offence." Threatening behaviour too surely? I get what you're saying here DJKQ, perhaps it wasn't the wisest thing to do, but come on FFS, who hasn't wanted to do exactly what the jogger did, at one time? Good work that man.
  24. I think the occasional page is genius, but the majority is just meh.
  25. You did, and he's never actually gotten round to so much as looking at it.
