I don't think you can entirely rubbish Louisa's point. There us undoubtedly a (bloody dull) culture of wanting to go to pubs to eat these days. But for me the biggest thing killing off pub culture is simply the price of a pint and the general price of living these days. I simply can't afford drinking sessions in the pub anymore, and certainly not on a regular basis.

Well yes, as well as nearly all of my friends leaving London. But I don't see groups like that in boozers anymore. And the last thing you want in the pub is your bloody wife and kid!

I bet members of this group are also pushing for Thames Water to make the reservoir public.

I am actually more than happy for smoking to never return to pubs (and I smoke). The pubs in ED tend now to be places that people go for a bite to eat. Pub culture where you go and meet your mates on a Saturday and spend hours reading the paper, talking and putting the world to rights, that's largely gone.

I quite liked Finn. Rey not so much, sounds far too posh.

Although ED does have some good pubs, I was only joking really.

A place where one can get a good pint does not a "good pub" make. (imo)

He was on the radio yesterday and said that he'd been a bot wprried about his opponent after the match, but that he was fine. He said he'd knew nothing about Charles Martin, and the guy on the radio was basically saying he's crap, go get him. Haye was talking about Fury and Wilder. People are suggesting that maybe for a competative fight he should take on Joshua's last oppenent (name escapes me) who gave a pretty good account of himself against AJ. Definitely can't see AJ's team wanting to put him against someone like Haye just yet. I am glad Haye is back, he does make things interesting and knows how to play the business game. He said on the radio that he'd gone in heavier than ever before at over 16st, and that he really felt powerful. I do think his power could trouble anyone if he caught them. Never saw the Wilder fight, but apparently he was awful until he finally came alive and got a knockout in the 9th (I think).

Any idea what school the teenagers were from? In my day that bus was full of Aske's and Waverley (now Harris) kids. If you recognised the ties I'd complain to the sachools about the behaviour of their students whilst on the bus. Schools are not responsible for their students once off grounds, but they don't want their students behaving badly whilst wearing the school badge / tie (and thus representing the school) so would probably take it seriously.

Whatever I expected it was better than that. One shot on target, one goal. Liverpool can't complain, they could have scored but didn't. Would be nice to see an actual striker starting the occasional match.

I enjoyed it. As Michael says, it's a bloody Star Wars movie made by Disney, it's never going to be particularly deep (just as the originals weren't). It did have more than a passing similarity to the first film (episode 4), but I believe that was done to breed familiarity and draw us all back in to the universe. It's now set up to tell it's own new story over two more films. Bit gutted about the big shock moment, because I can't see how that character can ever be brought back (even as a ghost being as he's not Jedi) and he's one of the best things about star wars.
