I'd obviously like the opposite. But like you I find it hard to call.
  2. I was gobsmacked at how helpless the guy was in there. He had a genuinely decent record with lots of knockouts, I thought Haye would win but that it would go a few rounds. I think for Haye it was all about seeing how he felt in there. Has anyone seen the in ring showdown between Fury and Wilder? Looks like that fight is a step closer.

Baregroove http://www.baregroove.com/ I admit I was a founder member, but haven't been with them for 3 years and stand to gain nothing fom any bookings. They're good though and they're good people.
  4. That's wound me up this week too Quids. Let's keep silly emotive nonsense out of it.

I'd been hoping LFC would nick him.

Austin to Saints for ?4m. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/35333790 Strikes me as a great buy, and I don't understand why no one else has already snapped him up.
  7. Only just realised that Haye's comeback fight tomorrow night is on Dave, the free view channel. Bit of a result.
  8. Problem is time off in lieu is pointless when there is no opportunity to use it.
  9. One junior doctor made the point that the service provided during the strike was the same as you'd get on a bank holiday, or indeed a royal wedding. That said, proceedures wouldn't have been booked in for a bank holiday, so people won't have to have them cancelled.
  10. Totally genuine question here. Why if the body needs to be buried in order to keep it's integrity, is it then okay for that to be time limited? Surely it either needs to be buried in one piece or it doesn't? I just don't understand it.

If only all cyclists could be as reasonable as you, and not just defensive we'll do what we want" types. I remember about 12 years ago crossing the top of Rye Lane (near the old W H Smith) between 2 buses (silly on my part I admit, but loads of people do it every single hour of every day). As I stuck me head out to peek around the bus, it was nearly knocked off my shoulders by a cyclist going VERY fast. Had I just stepped out it would have been nasty for one or both of us. Now he could rightly argue that I shouldn't have been crossing between two buses. He'd be right. But the fact is that people do cross between two vehicles all the time, and whether they should be doing that is basically irrelevant. It happens and cyclists need to be aware of it and go slower in areas like that.
  12. I'm just lulling you in to a false sense of security. I'll soon unleash my run of 30 points each week and will soon be atop the table. Or not.
  13. No, this is me just saying I've forgotten so many times that whether I do my predictions or not, will make no difference to the leaderboard, so I may or may not bother doing them. AqM was right up there, and because she had one slip (with over half a season to go) she quit. That seemed bizarre to me, but her choice obviously.
  14. I've more or less dropped out now, just keep forgetting, so not much point. I wouldn't have dropped out, but if AqM can quit after just dropping 6 points, then I think I can stop having forgotten half the weeks! Although I'll probably still do occasional ones. Scared to even make a prediction on LFC Vs United this weekend!

My spiderman mug (which came with an easter egg in it some 20 years ago) has followed my throughout my working life, and is currently in the bottom drawer of my desk, and gets used regularly. I shall be a sad man when that mug is no more.

Both Madrid teams have been banned from registering players for the next 2 transfer windows.
  19. For me it's not green space specifically, but just space. Using land to put empty bodies under the ground in boxes just seems outdated.
  20. Alcoholism can be (and more often than not is) psychological. Alcoholism is a different thing to alcohol dependence. I'm quite up on this subject.
  21. I guess the difference is that you're asking people to "get" a faith. I respect your beliefs and your right to hold them, but I can't honestly say they make any sense to me.
  22. uncleglen Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Otta- you cannot say that doctors are 'worth more' > than teachers ffs....how would kids get into > medical school without a decent bunch of teachers > along the way? "Worth more" was bad wording on my part. But lets be honest, it's not really that difficult to become a teacher. That's not to say teachers don't work bloody hard, and a lot more hours (often at home in the evenings) than people realise. But a teacher can quickly work their way up to a very healthy salary, and they certainly don't work the unsocial hours that doctors do. People don't have to agree with me, but in my opinion a doctor should be paid more than a teacher.
  23. To be fair, being a teen in the 90s had it's good points, but yeah, think I'd have enjoyed the 70s.
  24. Alcohol dependant means you're physically addicted. Being as you've now done well over a week without it, and didn't have any nasty side effects, I'd suggest that your GP was talking shit.

Hadn't realised spurs have Leicester in the PL tonight, just after the FA Cup tie. Should be interesting.
