  2. And to be very very clear, I totally support the campaign to get it open as something good. Then maybe I'll want to go more (bit not to a generic food pub).
  3. Jah Lush Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hmmm... so apart from the gig we did just how many > times did you go there in the last five years it > was open? And previous to that too? Well I played there several times with different bands, and I went to see quite a few other gigs. Can't give you a number, not loads. But that's rather the point I'm making. For me, unless there was something I wanted to specifically go and see, there was no reason for me to go there because as a pub I didn't like it. Although I hate the Bishop and wouldn't want to give the impression that's more my bag.
  4. Whitby is way ooop north east, beautiful little place where Bram Stoker was inspired to write Dracular. They have A LOT of fish & chip places, and ?9 is about what you'd pay for a main. My point was that a little place in London with no direct competition charging the same as those guys can't be bad.
  5. Pizzas were good, I agree. But still totally with Hona when it comes to the pub (love Jill as I do). Would only ever go there if there was an event / gig. Never just for the pub.
  6. Only just seen this thread, sorry to see a business from my favourite ED era (2003/04) go. For this saying it was expensive, the prices are similar to what you'd pay to eat in a F&C place in Whitby, where every other shop is a F&C place. So actually the prices were good. But reading this thread I find myself wondering how the hell you all afford to eat out so often?
  7. A one day community festival, yes. A corporate weekender. Hell no!

EDOldie Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Another big chain which is a bit disappointing. > There are so many good smaller pub companies > around these days, There are some rubbish small ones too. At least you know where you stand with Fullers. But the "news" that it will reopen as a pub isn't really news. It was always going to reopen in some form as a pub, just a quiet one with posh flats upstairs. It's a positive development, but the whole point is that the venue aspect needs to be saved, and that seems no nearer really.

  12. Whenever I've had any time off the booze, I don't save a penny. It all goes in food and I gain weight.

AM I suspect you're right about Ronaldo. From what I've read about his new film, he does seem to believe that he is special. I mean it's obvious he's a special talent at kicking a ball, but in the grand scheme of things, who cares? But I can imagine a lot of players don't warm to Rafa.

    Rafa to United!!! ;-)

That's not a surprise, it's felt like a matter of time pretty much since the day he got the job.
  16. I didn't even bother this weekend, wasn't a forget, was just a "meh". I can't believe AqM has actually packed it in because she dropped a few points though, that's just taking your ball home.

The club bought him (and Maio for that matter), you need to adjust a system to a player's strengths or get different players (which is what they should have done). Just frustrated with Liverpool, they always take two steps forward, 1.95 steps back.
  19. I'm not 100% convinced it's just us adults that have hang ups about gender / colours. I have 2 girls, we have raised them both the same, wityh as little pink as possible in early years. Older one couldn't give a shit, but younger one is full on princess pink. Just tell Mr Buggie to make sure he's heard calling "careful you don't break your SISTER's scooter" whenever anyone gets within earshot ;-)

Totally deserved for West Ham. Reading a lot of Liverpool fans slagging off Benteke, but his 2 goals have won us 6 from 9 points, and the rest of the team haven't managed a goal between them in 3 matches, so think these fans need to look at the bigger picture. LFC just need better players in the majority of positions. Would love to see a couple of good buys in Jan, but not expecting much until the summer. But speaking of Jan, surely someone will go for Charlie Austin now. I still can't believe he wasn't snapped up in the summer, and wonder if I'm missing something?

Can't see Leicester hanging on to win, but would be amazing for them to get top 4. And who knows, maybe just maybe they'll pull it off and win the whole thing. I don't think any real football fan would not live to see that.
  22. I think James would be best served realising that he's on a hiding to nothing with this one and backs away. My advise to anyone with a complaint about DHFC would be to take it up with the club. Posting on this forum is never going to solve an issue like this, it's just going to create a thread like this one... ... Which is not without it's own entertainment value to be fair.

  24. It's a game AqM, why not carry on and if you lose by less than 6 points by the end of the season we'll all know the score.

I've only just seen that apparently United scarves with Mourinho's name were being flogged outside the ground on Monday. Louis van Gaal: Man Utd manager will not quit after Chelsea draw - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35191544
