  2. You can't know where the patrol car was on it's way to. I have absolutely nothing against a bit of weed, but to be fair it is EVERYWHERE these days. When I was a teenager you had a smoke in someone's house, but these days young guys are blatant about it so I don't actually blame the police. I'm not saying the police don't have their faults, but I find this harsh.

To this day I regret that I was so shocked I didn't grab him. Probably a good thing in that I'd have ended up in trouble, but what I wouldn't give to punch him square in the face.

If they are so concerned about respecting our fallen / veterans, then why would they completely take the limelight from them on this day and divert everyone's attention towards Corbyn. Stupid hypocritical twunts.
  5. This article from a couple of years ago has a list of all the London boroughs and what the Chief Execs were on. http://www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/the-council-chiefs-on-more-than-200000-in-salary-and-perks-8547953.html And Southwark was far from the worst. There is absolutely no comparrison between a ?5k garmenbt and a several hundred k property. But the point is, that garment was given away to raise some money for charity. What is stopping you from selling up now a profit has been made on your house, moving to Sidcup, and donating the difference to charity? > Most people don't need a 5k dress to have a great wedding and I question the > values of someone who does. I used to play guitar (quite an expensive guitar actually - probably should trade it in for a ?150 thing) in a wedding band, and have been to all sorts of weddings both grand and not so much. Some people spend a fortune on the setting, some people spend a fortune on the food, some people spend a fortune on the clothes. The point is, that it's THEIR day and it's their choice. It's (hopefully, and definitely in their minds when they're organising it) a once in a lifetime thing. Every one of us (including you) spends some money on something we don't need to. Money whech could be put to better use. But what sort of miserable existence would it be without some treats? The point is, who the hell are you to question anyone's values for the choices they make for their wedding day FFS? Especially when that person has said they're on a pretty low wage. It's just a holier than thou nonsence.
  8. miga Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Londoners are proportionally > less integrated by social grade, ethnicity and age > than the rest of Britain." To flip that on it's head, it could be argued that there are more people for Londoners NOT to mix with, so the appear unintegrated even if they do mix... But I have to say there are areas of East London in particular where large Asian communities do largely stick together. They will mix with other cultures, but don't seem to go out of their way to do so.
  9. I could be wrong, but don't most of those shops tend to sell women's clothes? Foxy would look great in a nice floral print next summer.
  10. Whilst I see where you're coming from NewWave, I'd much rather a Nando's than a shop seeling either buttons or old lamps.

Indeed. There's disabled and there's disabled. I would count as one of that number, but I don't need a spare room because I have crap eyes.
  12. Another 4 goals for DHFC.
  13. Yeah I was going to mention the disability angle. In some cases the "spare" room is actually needed for things likt hoisting equipment. It's a relatively small number, but it shows the lack of thought or flexibility in the thinking behiond it.

I just think it's pretty bloody harsh to read that post from someone who is clearly passionate about a cause, and to grab on to one aspect of it and try to paint them as some sort of wrongun. Sorry but that's pretty bad form BB.
  15. Can't disagree with that.

You totally agree even though the person didn't spend ?5k (that's just what it was worth), and then donated it to charity? Harsh.
  17. I suddenly feel the need to wear my old DHFC Away kit from around 2004, just to show that I'm not a glory hunter.
  18. Blah Blah Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Is it only me that finds an irony in someone > spending 5k on any piece of clothing and then > accusing others of not being charitable enough? Spectacularly unnecessary post. And yes, by the looks of it, only you.
  19. NewWave Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > upset at the loss of a > way to donate to a worthwhile charity. To be fair, there are a million ways to donate to breast cancer charities, it's one of the most well publicied illnesses / fund raising causes out there.
  20. The clue is in the title.

This is the only photo I could find, and it doesn't really show much of the interior, but those waxy JD Bottles were a recognisable feature of the place.

Oh he knew what he was doing, I'm just saying that the blokes who came second PROBABLY don't honestly feel like they won it with hindsight. I notice that whilst he was stripped, the titles were not given to others.
  24. For those that are suggesting the back of the station should all be transformed in to a beautiful open space for "all" to enjoy, you're dreaming. Even if the council did throw out all of the people that earn their living out of those units, they would surely sell to developers who would build top priced flats there for the sort of people they'd rather have in the area.

If they strip them of those titles that would be disgusting. The players won them, and the players weren't fiddling the books. And if I were a Celtic supporter I wouldn't want them, they'd be false titles. Bit like the guys that finished second to Lance Armstong. Bet they don't feel deep down that they actually won those tours.
