Bloody cliques. -
Lesson 2. Try not to be too obvious in the thread title. You're beating yourself before you start.

Mick he spent a fortune 2 summers in a row. And Clyne and Lallana are decent signings. Loveren has been the real let down, but when he was bought people outside of LFC were saying it looked a good signing. You can't always tell. But he's just too stubborn, he has no plan B during a match. He can change tactics to start a match, but when things weren't working he'd never try something different, he just dogedly stuck to "his way". To be honest I do think the timing is harsh, but I'd have rather they got rid in the summer. I will say for him though that last season we were hit hard by injuries, especially that of Sturridge. Had he been fit you never know where we might have finished.

I very much hope so. Can't say I'm upset to see Rogers go.

Wicked afternoon yesterday, and great crowd. Loved the Fernandez song to the tune of ABBA's Fernando.

Doesn't mean people can't remember them fondly.

Because food has become bloody expensive and everyone is watching their pennies more than they were a few years ago.

I was chatting with a couple of colleagues the other day who are still in the dating game. Sounds feckin horrific!

I forgot again until this morning (and no points from the derby).

And there you have it. People eat things that taste nice to them. End of conversation.

I have a mate who carries a bottle of hot pepper sauce with him wherever he goes. He even puts it on a roast. It actually started to really wind me up when I went on holiday with him. At least try the food before you smother it with that stuff!

rahrahrah Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I wouldn't say it's a typical modern school > building Based on the schools I visit (in Newham), ity looks very typical of the ones that have been built / extended in recent years. Doesn't look great, but at the end of the day, if the kids get a good education, so what? Whether they will get a good education is a different thread.

And on that subject, no one has mentioned the fact that not everyone does like soldiers, and the misguided member of staff MIGHT have been trying to protect him from getting a load of verbal from either some piss head or some nut job. Personally I have nothing against our armed forces, but equally I find it nausiating when everyone throws the word "hero" around. You're not a hero just because you sign up, you actually need to do something heroic to earn that name. What happened to Lee Rigby was disgustiong and terrible. He was an innocent victim of a hate crime, that doesn't make him a hero. Sorry if anyone finds that offensive, but there you go.

Whilst we're on the sublect of "nukes", may I take the opportunity to throw in a quick recommendation for HBO's The Brink (comedy). I really enjoyed it.

No I actually thought she spoke quite well, but said to the wife "it doesn't matter what she says, she'll be slagged off and dismissed". Brand is just an egomaniac who likes the sound of his own voice. Whether you agree with Charlotte Church or not, I think it's unfair to compare her with Brand.

"Not be allowed to win" was a poor choice of words. "Not be allowed to do anything" would have been better.

I predict that in a reasonably short time, Coybyn will be out, a new media savvy soundbyte spouting leader will be in place. Everyone that thought politics might be worth taking an interest in again will once again be disillusioned and turn away. I've said before that I've never really thought of JC was a future PM. But I had really really hoped there would be a chance to have some grown up debate and for people to be listened to a bit. But the bully boys will never let that happen, and so it will be more of the same old shit. I feel naive and foolish for ever thinking there might be something different.

I used to like the Spitting Image Portillo who'd come smashing through the wall of a cabinet meeting in his tank. But yeah, he was saying again last night that he thinks Trident is a total waste and that he'd rather reinvest the ?100bln on weapons that we might actually need. Personally I'd use a portion of it for defence equipment (sweeten up the armed forces) and use a bigger portion for other stuff (like housing). On a broader note, I am almost wishing this whole thing would be over sooner rather than later. My father in law is an old skool lefty, who probably shares Corbyn's values on many things (not all). And yet he put him last when he voted for the leadership because he remembers the past and said that it would just be a brutal tearing apart by the media establishment. He was spot on. Corbyn stands absolutely no chance as long as this CONSTANT media storm carries on. And it will carry on. Frankly he could start spoting the sort of stuff that would please the most moderate of Tories and he's still be slaughtered. This man will just not be allowed to win. Some moron on Question Time was suggesting he should be charged with treason. That is the sort of person that gets a vote in this country.

VCD Athletic? Is it me or does that sound like a sports related STD?

Pretty harmless troll though really. But not very good at it.

That's what I was getting at earlier. It's like we're still reeling from the loss of the empire and being a genuine big player in the world. I think a lot of people in or close to power just want nuclear weapons so that they can feel important at UN meetings.

As far as I know, the Chinese people that used to run that chip shop (which by the way was an awesome afyer swimming treat when I was a kid)never sold up. No.idea why they've never changed the shop front though. @ rahrahrah, it's going to be a typical modern school building, cheap to put up and fit for purpose. Flashy looking buildings cost more. On a personal note, whilst it had to go, I will always have fond memories of going to see the horses in the stables as a kid, and seeing mounted police trotting along the roads. Was a big part of the ED that I grew up in. Hope the school does very well.

Germany know a thing or two about the world wars and being sensible about nuclear weapons. We on the other hand are desperate to play with the big boys and make out like any of them are remotely moved by what we have to say.
