  1. Still, this all worked out for the best didn't it?
  2. I thought intent was main factor?
  3. I must have had you pegged all wrong all these years ;-)
  4. Yeah even with ball going wide the intent was clearly to stop a goal Fa arbitration is weird
  5. "self-indulgent whimsy? - discuss" That it is. Nowt wrong with that tho. Harmless fun is another description.
  6. Now who was that someone again... Oh yeah.. Fabfor
  7. "Re: It's 4.30am and the heathrow flight path appears to be in use new Posted by fabfor Today, 10:22AM But why move the more active one? Admin, I request that we keep the other - if only to save us having to repeat the whole tortuous argument again, god forbid" If only someone, hadn't resurrected this thread in a desperate bid for attention, then the more active one would be still in play
  8. Face palm
  9. West cork a great choice West generally... South Kerry, north Clare Ballyvaughan is a particular favourite of mine. Small small town in gorgeous location. Just a couple of pubs and restaurants but so handy for many beaches and the burren Galway a short drive away for a bigger day out Bias means I should mention my hometown of youghal in co cork as well Longest beach in many countries Bustling town Handy for cork and Waterford cities Kinsale harbor and gastro centre nearby East coast Ireland is a bit Home Counties England by comparison Middle Ireland (athlone etc) is a lot of flat bog land Draw a line from Waterford through cork and coastal cork, Kerry and Clare up to Galway and Sligo and you'll be in right ball park (North Kerry and south Clare a slight exception. A bit more hard bitten and less touristy. As a rule. Still some nice spots tho)
  10. We have had many feisty games over the years. That's ok Gameplay to target smaller players different in my book
  11. Clue was in the phrase world football Alan. So France team of 98 -2000 ish I expect you already knew that tho...
  12. Is this why the toffs keep lobbying for cock fighting and badger baiting to come back too? The narrative "metro liberals dictating to shires" isn't without some merit but by itself it doesn't explain the opposition Loz' two categories is over simplistic I give not one fig about foxes OR what rural types get up to But I am suspicious of people who derive pleasure from cruelty visited upon anything that has no say And that goes for any class. Plenty of townies do care about where their meat gets to the table. But then they get ridiculed too
  13. Yeah if we had lost game 50 to say... Derby playing like that I'd get it It is a backhanded compliment but it still irks. Teenage Rooney and vanN. I think it sowed the seed of doubt in arsenal teams to this day. So you can definitely say it was worth it from a united perspective But I do think less of Man U because of it as well
  14. I wouldn't man a barricade to outlaw it But you have to wonder why someone would man a barricade to make it legal
  15. The end of the unbeaten run. Man utd targeted people like Reyes and played rough People say arsenal should have been able to respond and arguably that's true. But given uniteds talent it was a bit poor form.
  16. I really don't see it that way RD Arsenal shot themselves in the foot at home (again) and performed decently away. Nothing invincible about BM It's the sort of fixture that can transform the Moyes era if they pull it off Going to be some cracking tv over these matches

    Budget

beer seems to go up many many times a year in pubs - rarely do I see much notieable change around budget time specifically but if the 1p helps pubs then it's not necessarily a bad thing
  18. although the Parisian 'burbs did produce a team that dominated world football for about 3-4 years not so long ago
  19. JohnL I hope you aren't suggesting that the recent days headlines have been just another spasmodic fit of finger-pointing and headline-grabbing? ;-)
  20. but I genuinely would like to see a situation where some of the people suffering met some of the people not bothered in a mutually agreed location (somewhere the noise is deemed partiularly bad) and have some sort of conversation I'd love to see who needed to shout to be heard I think the harsh reality of shared experience might surprise some people
  21. hang on - mis read so I posted badly
  22. "or me the big negative against Wenger is that he never produced a team that won back to back titles like the great teams do. Even the Invincibles failed in that respect, giving the air of one hit wonders. " a lot to agree with there - I would say dissapointing rather than big negative. I would also say that he never went out of his way to clobber a team like Man Utd did that day and that was a positive

    Great Gigs

i'm amazed she is doing it but not sure I would actually enjoy it lots of arm-waving and floaty nonsense? - not for me sarcastic version of Cornflake Girl? - hmm, maybe I'm in
  24. who cares - what did they LOOK like? How were they letting themselves down diet-wise?
