  1. Jokes about chefs diddling with food = absolutely fine UncleBens comments seem along those lines so I couldn't call them racist. And yet, and yet.... The undertones of "illegal" and "underpants" play to more than just "crazy chefs eh?" Unlike me to side with djkq and dulwich fox against the likes of otta, Jeremy, David Carnell and el pibe. But there it is I don't like uncleben as a poster/character but nor am i saying he is racist on this post. I wouldnt call for his post to be removed. But the post wasn't just a bad joke either. It left a bad taste If people are too quick to call "racist" I would argue he has been too slow to reflect on how it might come across "Mind your language" sitcom anyone?
  2. On the phorum site they have a mobile template for download. No idea how easy integration with current host would be but a quick scout around other phorum sites suggests that if the Derby Writers Association can do it... http://www.phorum.org/phorum5/read.php?63,147913,147913#msg-147913
  3. My phone typing requires an apology Sorry
  4. Odd. We arrived at london bridge at 7.10 ish and were able to catch east dulwih train at 20 past. No obvious disruption but we arrived via another station tree than main entrance
  5. Ha. Good spot sue
  6. A look at forums relating to broadband shows most companies have their flaky monets I dropped BT for EE a few months back ? fibre broadband, unlimited and phone calls (never use a landline tho?) - ?40 a month ? and not had a single problem so far (touch wood)
  7. oi - spam merchant. You've already tried this one. Hop it http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,1139708,1139708#msg-1139708
  8. mission structure aside, it's the combat which is the biggest bugbear for me It's just so "floaty floaty" anyway, this for the geeks paradise thread - we aren't helping syncro with this Skyrim talk ;-) If you have never owned a console, then for little money you can bick up either a 360 or a PS3 and get a stack of cheapish games and free demos The two "serious" driving games are Gran Turismo on PS3 and Forza on 360. Again, you can download demos and check out the mechanics to see which suits you best Many other racing games exist from F1 to offroad and rally games. I prefer the controller and online environment of the 360, but as I say the value of a PS plus account can't be dismissed either
  9. Biggest dissapointment of this gen was me playing Skyrim for a day and realising that all those months playing Oblivion meant I just didn't want to play it anymore. I was impressed by the world, but the gameplay left me unmoved
  10. Some insight http://www.railforums.co.uk/showthread.php?t=56763
  11. I have been a 360 advocate for last 6 years but ps3 has really come into its own in last 12 months A ps plus account (same price as Xbox live account) gives you access to free recent premium games. Every month , you can download free stuff as part of te package. Worth looking at But a 360 is an awesome machine and as otta says should be able to get some bargains
  12. Good work gingerbeer - nice to know 2013 has been documented
  13. "one of the other Italians closed" to be more precise
  14. I dunno *Bob* - given the amount of posts over the years where people have said "what ED needs is,,, an italian/pizza" resturant, only for people like me and Carnell tear our hair out, listing all of the places in the area, my impression is that "if it's not on LL, it doesn't exist" is a reality for a lot of people For them, this new place is the only italian in town - and it has been noticeably busier than any previous incarnation, including launch weeks so.. jury out for me
  15. owned by same people being run by completely new people. Think of it as the owners subletting/contracting out or whatever.
  16. wasn't a bad day at all was it? So much so that Sunday was spent not moving, with a range of plans all getting shelved @ gingerbeer - in the past, people have uploaded files to flickr or similar and pasted a link here. Given the amount of pics I think you took, some editing may be required ;-) Look forward to the return of the proper event next year tho'
  17. a leeetle bit, buggie - but I'm hoping no-one reads that and thinks it's a cliquey event. Already we have several newbies, several Barry Barry regulars and several old-skool EDF monthly drinks types - so the whole range I'm hoping many more (from all camps) turn up on spec on the day as well
  18. "depends entirely on the topic of conversation." tomorrow, I am mostly leading with "you know Archie from Balamory? He is headlining at the Half Moon in Herne Hill tonight you know..." and if people don't like it...
  19. cheers Andy This one for those of us looking forward to the weekend a bit too much http://www.gocomics.com/calvinandhobbes/1986/08/08 it has also occured to me that Calvin's dad has more than a smidge of El Pibe about him
  20. LadyD - have you ACTUALLY got genuine raspberry bushes with abundant pickings Or is this another of your "other" threads?
  21. * raises a glass to the East * Pickle, the Barry Barry is famous for it's inclusivity and has a long history of welcoming ipa...I mean children to the event (put it this way, I'm bringing mine) so yes, come, bring everyone else Judging by forecasts (31c and cloudless), if the run was happening tomorrow, medical backup would be required so probably best it's just an amble this year eh?
