Cat Epidemic (stop them going in my garden)

Actually it is not considered the Emperor's New Clothes in France -- there it is considered the king of breads, far superior to the modern baguette. But stick with your industrial Kingsmill if you like. By the way, have you noticed that the phrase `The Emperor's New Clothes' is more often used by pompous fools who think they are more clever than everyone else, not by people who can see the wood for the trees? I have. SimonM Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > >>Best bread in the world though! > Have to disagree - to me it is classic "Emperor's > New Clothes. What's so great about living in East Dulwich?
Shaggy replied to Spangles30's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hey, spangles, why don't you write to the Theatre Royal Drury Lane and ask them if they will consider relocatimng to the upstairs room of the EDT. And, yet, you are right. There is no need for the largest antiques market in the world to be on Portobello Road. I'm sure you could convince them to move to Northcross Road. Then many of your problems would be solved. Or you could just move to Clapham. -
Have dealt whith most of the EE's on Lordship Lane recently but Haart -- thats because they never seem to return phone calls. Once they agreed to take me to a property and then asked to reschedule at the last moment when I had left work early and run back from town. They said they had been ``too busy'' to call the owner. The house I wanted to see looked pretty good on paper for the needs of me and Mrs Shaggy. However it took them more than two months to sell after they had messed with my shedule, and it had already been reduced because it was hanging around on the market. Maybe if they actually showed houses they would have a better chance.... Ive found Bushells and Waites to be really helpful and professional. Maybe we should start a sweepstake on which will be the first EE to move off the lane.

I write court stories and stories about ``legal isues'' every day of my life. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever why the fact that this involves a ``legal issue'' means that any more care need be taken on this thread than any other. Zero. Rien. Not a sausage. On a slightly different point, thuough, it is never a good idea to make damaging and unsubstantiated allegations about anyone in a public forum, regardless of ``legal issues.''

Few children from SE22 are privately educated
Shaggy replied to trinity's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
It is pretty obvious to anyone with half a brain that quite a lot of people in ED could push themselves to pay for private education. It is also pretty obvious that the children of a large proportion of those people have kids who are below prep school age. It will be interesting to see if in a couple of years time they en masse choose state education over private education. If they do it should be to everyone's benefit. -
Hmm. Interesting. Why so much salt now one wonders? Or maybe I was noticing something that everyone else clocked years ago.
-
Good idea. There are so many cats in ED it would be a great idea to have a hotel for them on the main drag for when their owners go away.

I'm out on Orange. Dreadful service always. I now use my 3Mobile dongle more often than not to get on the net.

Any geologists out there who can answer this? This morning, after walking in the rain the evening before, I saw that my black shoes had white streaks all over them. I thought I had neglected cleaning them, But today driving around I saw white damp patches all on buildings and white stains on the road. Rain full of chalk from the Chiltern hills? Anyone have an idea?

Hello everybody. I have been going round the estate agents recently and all have been offering a sole agency contract at 1.5 percent. All but Fuxtons of course. Anyone managed to negotiate any lower?

On a serious point, I hope that every poster who has expressed a negative and informed opinion about the individuals being written about here has also made a proper complaint to the proper authorities. Obviously in the ideal world neighbours would ask fellow neighbours to tone it down a bit, but I can see how that might not be a great course of action in this case. A firm warning from the council / police / whoever will either encourage them to modify their behavior, thus allowing the residents of WR to live in peace and harmony together, or get a ball rolling. The choice will be theirs.

Lets broaden this. The pair aren't just the Whateley Road Village Idiots. I think they qualify as the East Dulwich Village Idiots. Maybe they could be put on display at the Goose Green Fayre?

Our cat only ever eats organic Almo Nature and sustainable James Wellbeloved dried pellets. Makes him fart like a Trojan though.

They probably closed it cos they already had one over the road. -
Our little ginger tom has gone missing - if you have any leads please call 07968 730092 any time of the day or night. Thanks. He answers to the name `Corfu'

Last time I thought a cat was lost, I put a collar around his neck with a note attached. The very amused owners called to say he was not lost, just very curious. However given the fact it's a kitten, I would call the RSPCA or Battersea Dogs and Cats Homestraight away. They will be able to help you and check whether the poor little mite is microchipped. He might have an owner desesperate to find him. A vet would also be able to check a microchip for you for free I would imagine.

What is going on with the trains from East Dulwich to london Bridge? There are delays nearly every single day at the moment... (morning and evening rush hour) I called Southern Railway and they will "get someone to call me back." Has someone got any info?

Lived in the Barbican, about ten yards from the sign that said "Welcome to Islington" before going South to the heart of SE22.

Thanks for your suggestions. Intenet vendor The Trainline (which appears also to be reponsible for sales on the GNER website) have now promised me a refund which they say they will claim back themselves from GNER. Apparently it is GNER's responsibility to provide a ticket if the machine fails to work, but instead they use it as an opportunity to make another sale.
