I must say I've felt really touched by Liz's visit to Ireland. Many here will slate the Monarchy and normally I'd be one of them. But this 85 year old lady has such great dignity and awareness that I believe she has had a profound influence of Anglo Irish relations. Somehow she has done something no strutting politician could ever have done. The English are no longer the auld enemy, but neighbours, and good one's at that. Somehow it feels like a line has been drawn in the sand. Thanks to her. Bless you Lizzie! PS Don't you just love Phil too?

This is the point I was trying to make. Lets see who is the first one to complain about the noise! BTW there's a whole team of 'ladies' on here, I've read, who pee on hubcaps when taken short. At least it sounds easier than a wheelie bin....would be for me anyway.

Ben, ahem........I emailed you. Given she has emailed you too and you are not mixing us up it's fair to assume that she has read this thread (thanks I might add, as you haven't, to my keeping it going). So comments like you must think 'of a suitably cool response' will have been read by her too. Basically you've blown that one then. Not being known for your thinking is possibly not the best thing to write either. I'd say your best bet is that her English isn't very good. Is Heather a free agent by the way? Know any pubs in Forest Hill where we could meet up for a double partially blind date type of thing?

Isn't a pub crawl a bit childish? No one seems to have questioned it's merits as something to do. It appears to have an assumed position that makes it ok. It's not called a crawl for nothing.
