  1. And you may be surprised to see the northern bounday of Friern Manor. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/file.php?5,file=30791 John K
  2. I didn't get away with that one! East Dulwich has five, plus those misallocated to Peckham (I'm not ploughing my way through the list to count them after excluding the Kent entries) If you look at the register again you will see that a very large number of the Camberwell entries are actually in Lambeth and not Camberwell. It's the post code problem again. John K
  3. If you check the English Heritage register you will see that East Dulwich has four listed buildings. Camberwell has three, but one of these is actually in East Dulwich. John K
  4. Except... The East Dulwich library building itself (and Nunhead library) is not of municiplal origin. John K

I guess you don't know much about our parish church and its history. John K
  7. I talk with a lot of local people and most do not know that we have our own valley. Though, to be fair, we do share our valley with Nunhead. Peckham is immediately outside our valley. John K
  8. I remember discussions when the police station was being built. It was said that it was one of a small network of anti-terrorist "bomb resistant" police stations being built in the Metropolitan Police area. John K
  9. I saw no criminal damage. John K
  10. Let me paraphrase that: "Nothing happened, so there was no risk". It that right? John K
  11. Thank you, JohnL. Once the women had mounted the roundabout to have fun were they still on the road? Does the Highway Code say anything about the deliberate distraction of traffic or is this in the RTAs? John K
  12. > Have a look at the hundreds of videos of women and men coming together around the world to dance Are there any of groups dancing on a busy urban roundabout? John K
  13. How would you calculate "most"? What do you think about the road safety? John K
  14. If the video is made available again it will be interesting to see if it has been edited to remove the final sequences. John K
  15. Thank you, buddug. I have partially implemented your sub-editorial suggestions. Now, what is your considered view on the safety aspects of the event? John K
  16. I have seen some of the Norwich background paperwork as my son is one of the civil engineers who worked on this. It looked to be a reasonable compromise, but I'm not qualified to judge as I don't use it. I do use the Goose Green roundabout. John K Edited to insert correct pronoun before our sub-editor spots my error.

Do you not? John K Edited in deference to our sub-editor: 1) to remove an exaggeration for effect 2) to correct a fat finger 3) to expand a contraction Edited again to correct a new fat finger.
  18. Before, or after, all your edits? John K
  19. Summary for page 3: Some young people decided to hold, or join, an event on a local roundabout with the intention of stopping local traffic. There is an issue about whether this was done with due regard for public safety. John K

You > surely can't be counting roads that don't actually > lead onto the roundabout like Tintagel Cresent? maxxi, Thank you for addressing the facts. You may not have been in East Dulwich when drivers used to turn right out of Tintagel Crescent direct onto the roundabout. You can see the present traffic management provisions to prevent this on the attached aerial photograph. Spurling Road is safer now it is no longer a two-way street and does not have a bua rank. However, there is now the extra provision of a dedicated cycle entrance/exit to the roundabout. John K
  22. You will remember that an extra zebra crossing was recently installed to improve safety at this difficult five-road roundabout. John K
  23. Our valley (Nunhead and East Dulwich) is about 1600 acres. I have read that an area the size of our valley with its pre-urban environment would support four extended fox family groups. I have not been able to find a definition of an "extended fox family" Can anyone help? John K
  24. The exposure here is about holding the event on Goose Green roundabout, not about the cause. John K
  25. LondonMix makes the distinction between BTL (Buy-to-let) and BTL (Borrow-to-let). I'm not sure about other contributors. John K
