  1. Why do women with blonde hair dye their roots black? John K
  2. You really don't want to get involved with this: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,929714,929714#msg-929714 The answer is a firm NO. John K
  3. Complicated! Here's a starting point: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/file.php?5,file=34908 Better to drop by for a chat. John K
  4. The 30 March wet patches are probably the western branch of the East Dulwich stream. The photos show the area reverting to natural (see "waste" marked on 18th century maps). Seems a pity to interfere with this. John K

  6. Will F.M.Conway be awarded this contract? John K

I wouldn't start from there. Here's an example: http://collage.cityoflondon.gov.uk/collage/app?service=external/Item&sp=Zdulwich&sp=234304&sp=X If the URL does not work it is image 232211. Jimbo1964 works with archived photos and can probably explain better than me the problems with image identification. John K
  8. I would like tunneling engineers to do a north to south survey along our valley. This would locate the NW to SE Dulwich Fault which crosses our valley. Problem is that the fault would probably mean the route would be discarded. John K
  9. A better way. Just need to acquire a little land. John K
  10. Need more provenance or hard corroboration for nexus. The brick-course ofset count to follow street gradient might exclude this identification or not. Small/medium builders used pattern books. This photo could be anywhere in south east England or the midlands. John K
  11. Who says this is an East Dulwich house? John K

This is a good idea. The picture shows where I would like to see barriers on my part of Lordship Lane. John K
  14. More probably a winterbourne without a springhead. John K

They wallowed in their own mire This shows astounding ignorance of the community that used to live in this area. It is also an outrageoues insult to the respectable working class people who used to live in this community. Are you a new arrival? Are you a transient? I hope so. John Kennedy
  16. It has been several months since I visited this part of East Dulwich. What new investment are you reporting? John K
  17. If you want to know what is likely to be under your home (or nearby) look here: http://www.bgs.ac.uk/data/boreholescans/home.html John K

John K
  19. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/file.php?5,file=29223 The Lordship Lane and East Dulwich Grove streams had their confluence at Grove Vale and then flowed north through the Oglander Gap. The red lines are the 50 foot contour. John K
  20. Prospective route looks good. Should by-pass East Dulwich. John K
  21. Someone remind me of the Bellenden regeneration budget. ?30m? John K
  22. > This left Southwark as the only council in the country which was prepared to turn an urban park into a graveyard A slight re-writing of history here? John K
  23. Thank you lane lover. The Sunday Times journalist is not very good at geography so I have prepared a helpful map for Sunday Times readers who might be thinking of moving to East Dulwich. John K
