Bumping as I am considering sending my daughter for a residential stay in the future.

Hi, I brought the Times twice on Saturday but the codes need to be from different days. Does anyone need a code from Saturday's paper? Does anyone have a code from Sunday or Wednesday's paper, please can you PM me. Thank you so much!

Hi there, Grateful for any recommendations for an A Level Maths Tutor. Many thanks!

Hi, My daughter (nearly 6 years old) will be learning French at School in September. Do you know of any French classes/groups held on either a Saturday or Sunday? Just thinking of ways I can support her as learning a new language is hard especially as we don't speak this language at all. Thanks.

Hello, Just wondering if it is a good idea to send your kids on a residential holiday camp over the Summer holidays? They start from 7 upwards. Love to hear from views/opinions and experiences. Thanks.

Interested in adult + toddler swimming class

Catford would be too far for me to travel to as my son gets travel sick but thanks for letting me know. -
Hi all, Is anyone interested in adult+toddler (19-36mths) swimming lessons on Saturday mornings (9am,9:30am,10am) at Peckham Pluse. Swimming sessions are 30mins long and cost around ?6 per lesson. I would like to take my son but Peckham Pulse are not running the adult+toddler class at the moment due to low numbers. They said they would need 8 adults for the class to go ahead. Please let me know if you are interested. I would love for this class to start in the Autumn. Thanks!

Hi, I need to organise my daughter's 6th birthday party (she previously just had family-only parties) so really looking for ideas as to what kids like/expect/want to have for their parties. What games did they enjoy? I was thinking pass-the-parcel and musical chairs or are they outdated? Thinking of hiring an Entertainer so grateful for any recommendations. Many thanks!

Hi, I work full-time but would like to take my daughter (6yrs old) to some activities in the evening that ideally start at 6:30pm onwards. I was wondering if you take your children or know of any activities/clubs that start at this sort of time or is this considered too late? Thanks!

Hi, I would like to take my 5 years old daughter to have a sight test. Can anyone recommend an Optician I can take her to that is close by or a short journey away. Thanks!

Thanks for the replies. Sounds like micro scooters are the ones to go with for quality and durability. Sorry Minder to hear you had an unpleasant experience. Kids do love them so it is tricky not to say yes.
-
thanks. These were the ones that they had in John Lewis. Do you think they are worth the money?

Hi, My daughter who is nearly 6 years old has been asking for a scooter. I have no idea which brands are good ones to look at. Popped into John Lewis to have a look and they are ?100+ which is a lot more than I was expecting or maybe that is how much they cost. Grateful if you could share any positive/negative reviews on scooters your child/children have used. Thanks!

Hi, I am returning to work soon after having my baby. My husband and I think it would be a good idea to hire a cleaner to help with the housework. We have not done this before so looking for any advice or suggestions you might have: 1) Did you give your cleaner a contract to sign? 2) We presume you gave the cleaner a set of keys to your house. I do feel a little nervous about doing that but I guess that would be most convenient for both parties. 3) What sort of problems, if any, did you have with your cleaner. Many thanks!

I am so excited about this. I have just pledged some money via Spacehive.

Can you recommend your cleaner?

Where can I learn basic sewing skills
LV0210 replied to midivydale's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi, please let me know how you get on as I am looking do the same as well. Thanks. -
Thank you so much for your replies! It is really encouraging to hear your experiences especially as you have managed to get the outcome you want. While it is daunting to go through the process it is the way to go and I'll definitely take on-board your tips and advice regarding the documentation of the evidence and costs.

Thanks for your reply SLad. I know the steps for the small claims court and know what to do. I wanted to hear other people's story of their experience, e.g. what was hearing like, what was the Judge like, did they have to enforce the judgement, did they win, etc. that sort of thing.

Thanks blot20. What was the reason why you didn't have to make an appearance in court? For example, is it because the other side admitted fault and therefore paid up once they received the court papers or you settle outside of court.

I used a removal company that charges ?50 an hour for two men and a van. The only downside to this is that they did do things quite slowly and took the long way to get to the destination but it still worked out more cost effective for me to do it this way.

What happened to your husband that led him to have that view? As for his Father, what would he advise instead of going through the small claims court? ?4.5k.

Hi there, As part of a house renovation I was required to install a sprinkler. I contracted a sprinkler company do this but unfortunately they did not fit it properly and it resulted in a leak in my kitchen and half of my living room (open plan). After that incident they stopped replying to e-mails and phone messages bar one e-mail which said that they do not accept liability for what happened. I've started small claims proceedings and have just received an e-mail from their appointed Solicitor to say that they will be defending their case. Why I believe I have a strong case I feel nervous about going to court so would be grateful to hear from anyone that has been through the process and wouldn't mind sharing their experience. Thank you!

Hi there, I have a 5 year old and also a baby. I will be returning to work soon and wondered what I could do about my daughter's after school activities. There are 2 -3 activities that she would like to go to; swimming, gymnastics and brownies. My Mum lives close to me so can do the after school pick up but will not be able to take her to these classes. As I don't want her to miss out is there such a job exist where someone could pick her up from my Mum's and taking her to these classes? Thanks.
