  1. At the risk of STATING THE BLEEDING OBVIOUS: Australians - people who come from Australia Kiwis - small flightless birds
  2. Many thanks Citizen. Many hours toiling over a hot Ho can sap a chap of vital bodily fluids.
  3. Bumperty Bump - just as a reminder. If anyone who has previously said YES cannot make it, can they let me know? Ta.
  4. I bought 3 plants in Crusons on Sunday. They are home grown and came in drinking cups. A bit weedy to begin with, I potted them on into a big tub full of fresh compost and they have shot up already. Looking forward to some late August Chillies.
  5. A cuppa would be lovely. Its hard work tending the Quiet Room allotment, all those rolling acres of it. The toms are doing well, the strawberries are OK but the marijuana is doing fantastically well and the poppies are looking rather bonny.
  6. Here we go Coop purchase Somerfield The question is whether they keep the store or sell it to Waitrose? There used to be Coop Supey on LL - I think where the Coop pharmacy is now. Could they merge onto one site or are they separate Coops?
  7. Thinking, I remember Thinking. Well, actually I dont, I dont remember much anymore. I remember Capstan Full Strength. Made skunk look like sweet cigarettes. Why would you smoke a North American mammal anyway? Youngsters! Pah!

  10. 1 KM is 66% of a mile, just as 1 Euro is 66% of a Pound ............ um, well ..... Does this mean that 1 KM is now about 80% of a mile? 2lbs is 1 kilo (nearly) - from old bags of sugar. I still think of baby weights in bags of sugar. 1 litre is nearly 2 pints - from bottles of milk. Temperature is Celsius, short distance in CM and Metres, long distance in miles (1500 metres = 1 mile-ish) I just about remember old money, but was 7 when the change over happened and so did both Imperial and Metric.
  11. Does anybody else find this damp weather bad for the rhuematics? I spent most of the morning walking around bent double.
  12. Watching him change into his Consuela alter-ego on the banks of the River Cam was unforgetable. Does anybody know how you sink a Punt by the way?
  13. Bloody cactus. Still I have replaced Fluffy with assorted beans and some stawberries. The ASBO stops me from discussing the courgettes anymore.
  14. Interesting to see the metal fences infront of the Barry Road houses. Later chopped off and melted down for the war effort?
  15. Aliens. Somebody make a unsteady video of it with their cheapo mobile phone.
