Huge shame. I saw Eddie Izzard upstairs at the EDT before he made it big. Chatted to him at the bar afterwards.

The footprint of the fair has got bigger but there is plenty of room for growth. Perhaps there is some concern that this would make it noisier at the more residential end? Having said that, it is one day a year and always good fun. Giving the sound stage more room would seem to be sensible with The Goose is Out! doing a grand job of arranging excellent live acts and so boosting spectators. The WI's cake making is ever more excellent too, and the fudge maker and the cookies. You get my drift.

4.65 sounds about right for a large bottle of Cobra, based on the price of a pint in ED pubs. I suspect that the recession has depressed price rises in local restaurants for the past few years. The lifting of the recession allows for a correction upwards, and it may be that for some, rents have gone up too. See you Thursday folks.

It does depend on how you perceive a siesta. Is it a quick nap or a proper sleep? Perhaps climate makes a difference? An afternoon sleep in hot climes is a more serious affair than in our cooler temperatures. The tropics are sapping and so the need for an afternoon nap is actually quite pressing, especially as a significant proportion of life is lived in the cooler (as in, less hot) night time.

Good to see you both and all of those that attended. Tandoori Knights has lost its specialness I think. The likes of Dulwich Tandoori are as good and a bit cheaper. For different and special its Ganapati for me. Next meeting on 14 May in the Surma.
