  1. The Government is not neutral in this, they have a position and the reasons why should be communicated to the public. There are 60 million of us, so 9 million quid seems a bargain and less than the cost of a first class stamp. The Brexit campaign have ample opportunity to make their case, or cases, there seem to be a melange.
  2. In. Whats happened in the past 1000 years or so? Invasions from Rome, then Scandinavia, then Normandy mostly. After that, pan-European wars and a British Empire thankfully long gone. Does Europe make us less democratic? Pick your model, but not really. Those that want to leave seem to be either romantic lovers of Empire or egotistical control-freaks.

  7. This time last week I was in bed shivering and sweating, upset stomach along the way. Now, better but still coughing and feel quite tired quite easily. That I am not the only on is a comfort.
  8. I briefly channel hopped through "Lucky Man" and noted that James Nesbitt is starting to look like Frankie Howard in his old age.
  9. Just because you can use a word, doesnt mean you should. Thats what being an adult is about. Partly.
  10. It makes for uncomfortable reading for some well known ED eateries BUT Very positive for others. I for one will now be a regular at the Blossom Montessori Nursery caf?.
  11. Next meeting will be at Tandoori Nights on Thursday 7 April, eating at 8pm-ish - https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g186338-d3932402-Reviews-Tandoori_Nights-London_England.html Drinks at The Actress Pub at 7pm-ish - http://www.theactresseastdulwich.com/
  12. Fun evening at Franklins and Curry Cabin, huge big welcome to Sue and Nige who fitted in very well and joined in the high-jinks and double-entendres. 20 quid per head, including drinks, evenly split across the group, even those that eschewed drinks and sucked on a damp napkin instead. Next Curry Club on Thursday 7 April.
  13. The bill sharing is as described above and has been for 8 years plus. I really do not want to get into who had what discussions across 10 people.
  14. We have always divided the bill equally between the group and will continue to do so.
  15. We dont book a table for the pre-meal drinks, people tend to turn up between 7 and 7.30. I try and extract people from the bar at 8, but usually fail. At Franklins we usually grab the large table on the right as you walk through the front door. I will book a table for 10 people at Curry Cabin. if there is anybody else coming along, please post here, all welcome. Franklins bar - 7pm ish Curry Cabin - 8pm ish
  16. With the Yummy Onion, looks like about 8 of us. Anybody else?
  17. What is puzzling is the idea that this natural and wild space. it isn't and hasn't been for hundreds of years. It is man-made space subject to human intervention over many years. Overgrown, human planted trees and shrubs are not natural. The are at best, feral. A hawthorn hedge is not a natural construct. Its a hedge, planted and managed by humans for their needs and wants. That wildlife has inhabited this space and made it their own is the cyclical way of things. This already man-made space will simply change and be re-inhabited by existing and/or new wildlife, whilst allowing more burials in the urban environment.
  18. On 3 March, we are meeting in Franklins' Restaurant bar at 7pm and will eat at Curry Cabin at about 8pm.
  19. Eh? Edit: To clarify, how very dare you. My villa in Goa is the product of hard work and is used as a therapeutic retreat by officials of FIFA and Kenyan athletes.
