  1. The problem for me is that this thread should be welcoming to new people who might wish to come along to Curry Club. I do not want it to be hijacked to pursue gripes and vendettas that can be, and are, played out elsewhere. The sniping of people, full of their own self importance communicates the impression of a clique and is off-putting. This is true of regulars and those of you who have never been to curry club. That the thread is in The Lounge is a happy accident of history and demonstrates that this thread has been on the Forum longer than those that are posting. Please squabble away elsewhere and show some respect to this venerable institution.
  2. So, we are agreed. Xoco, great food. As for the rest of it, stop c@cking around and go and play on some other thread.
  3. Delightful stone-based serving platters actually. Food was indeed excellent. A contemporary take on the curry. Its a shame more people don't try it. I think the menu doesn't help. Its a bit too eclectic and maybe gives the impression that there is too much going on for any of it to be excellent. This is simply not the case. So,give Xoco a chance, you will be rewarded.
  4. Hopefully we will see you all at the December/ Christmas meet. Anybody else coming on Thursday?
  5. This Thursday folks. Who will be there so I can book a table?
  6. *wonders why Alan is leaning against the fireplace in a nonchalant manner, with his Gentleman's apparatus hanging out? It's not big or clever*
  7. Cool. Lets go for Xoco on Thursday 3 November at 8pm. Meet in The Bishop at 7pm.
  8. Next meet is on 3 November. Shall we give Xoco a go? Its fairly new and opposite Jaflong on Lordship Lane. I believe Foxy has been there and spoke well of the food.
  9. I very much enjoy craft ales. However, when eating a highly spiced curry I tend to go for a mass market lager. I find that the flavours of craft ales are rather over-whelmed by a curry.
  10. All good at Jaflong. Was there shenanigans in the EDT? 😮
  11. All good! Late arrivers, new people one and all. We will probably be late leaving the Flying Pig. Please see my earlier post for a link to the Pig's website. Laters ..
  12. Many thanks to Surma for the invitation to their 40th birthday celebrations. Great food. much appreciated.
  13. I have booked a table for 8pm on the 13th. We will meet at the Flying Pig at 7pm, Jaflong Tandoori is a few doors up. http://www.theflyingpiglondon.com/
  14. Well, its better than the usual "can I only pay for the grains of rice that I eat?" trolling.
  15. Heady days, many years ago. Eating MEATwagon burgers off a trailer parked up in a Commercial estate in Bellenden.
