  3. Isnt this some sort of 21st Century press-gang? Kidnapping strapping boys for a Naval life of rum, sodomy and the lash?

How odd. It seems to work for the Picturehouse cinemas and many other organisations. Surely the whole point of an electronic ticket is that it has a unique identifying code. Once used, it cannot be re-used.

No. The designated door-staff on a busy evening are invariably confused, to the extent that those who have pre-booked tickets wait longer than those who have not pre-booked tickets. Although this is inconsistent. The combining of ticket and food sales just increases the average time taken for transactions at the main counter. It seems inefficient. My experience is as described if you have tickets in your hand you will get through the door. The issue is not the inflated expectations of an overly-entitled middle-class audience. It is one of wanting to get in on time and watch the film that you have paid for.
  11. Even buying online can be problematic in that you cant just print off your ticket, you have to collect and still stand in a potentially long queue. For me, the best way is to buy your tickets, face to face, in advance. You can then get through the front door by waving your tickets at whichever confused member of staff is on the door.
  12. OK. lets go with Surma, we havent been there for a while.
  13. That's it then, anybody fancy proposing a restaurant?

Anyway, the toilet issue might have been me.
  18. There you go, its all about the Fox :)
  19. Great to see everybody yesterday. 11 people sat down for a curry at Curry Cabin. The food was a little variable, some enjoyed their food, some did not. The waiting service was equally variable and became increasingly amusing. The atmosphere became rather smokey, down to a "gas leak" we were told, which was a comfort. We were not going to allow impending doom to spoil our meal. As we left it became apparent why things had been haphazard. It was Curry Cabin's last night, the owner retiring and the place shutting down. Foxy had a bottle of Martini Rosso pushed into his hand because he is that kind of man. Curry Cabin was established in 1970, it says so above the door. That was a good run and I am glad that Curry Club was there to say farewell.
