  5. I've seen a local moggy with a half-dead pigeon in it's mouth, gripping it by it's broken neck, blood dripping from it's visible fangs, feathers everywhere...''Oh, my Tiddles doesn't chase birds''...yeah, right
  6. The single flight of stairs is a self-supporting structure. The landing carries the load, it's supported on 3 sides by walls. The single flight of stairs is fixed to the landing, flank wall, and the floor. Imagine leaning a simple ladder, as long as it's fixed at the top and bottom to prevent it from slipping, you could walk up that too...
  7. Looking forward to tonight's semi, the first leg was the best game I'd seen this season, I'll go for extra time with Liverpool winning on away goals...

I wouldn't dismiss a full application. For a start you can write to the planners, free of charge, under what is known as Pre-Application Advice. They will then give you feedback/comments on your proposals, enabling you to make the necessary amendments before a formal application and fee is submitted. You will normally need to submit drawings with specification/materials noted, in order to get proper feedback/comments. So in your case, you could initially state that you are proposing zinc and see what they say...

I'm surprised to hear you say that Jah, Spurs have won more points in the last 10mins of games in the PL than any other team...

  16. Don't fret MrB, Ocado are selling 'Burns Night Bundles', you'll have to supply your own beard and plaid shirt though...
  17. Damn! I was hoping that the topless guy was Jah. I don't suppose any of you rabble popped into the new Turner Gallery whilst you were there? Wondered if it was worth a visit...
  18. Mick Mac Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > No other country settles for the cost of provision. Not sure what you mean Mick, can you elaborate please? I thought the TV money was negotiated as a collective by the PL, and then distributed amongst the clubs dependent on TV showings and final league positions, whereas in Spain it's negotiated club by club, meaning Madrid and Barca get the lion's share regardless, thus maintaining their hegemony. I'm no fan of all the money sloshing around the game at the moment, but I think one upshot is that the PL seems to have become far more competitive with the so called lesser clubs getting this fairer share of the TV money. Wasn't there a stat last season (the first year of the new Sky deal), that Cardiff, who were relegated, received more ?? than Man Utd did when we won the PL the season before under the old deal?...
  19. Quids walked up to the counter of BetFred with a swagger that only someone born within the sound of Bow Bells could muster, either that or his piles were playing up again.
  20. Realising their plan had failed, Foxy grabbed Seabag's dough balls, with the subdued lighting scheme it was hard to tell whether a grimace or smile had broken out across Seabag's face...

This will only engender sympathy rather than envy, surely the whole point of the ''I'm on holiday'' auto-reply. Substitute with St Kitts...

  25. Just at that moment, the rhythmic shuffling of Louisa's Zimmer Frame could be heard coming down the Lane...Seabag sensed a potential ambush.
