  2. Initial reports said that Ramires and Luiz both heard it and told Mikel after the match had finished (which begs the question why they didn't they say something at the time), and now they reckon only Ramires heard it and asked Luiz to translate :)

This week 1 correct score @ 14/1 = ?4 profit, and 4 correct scores returned a loss of ?3.60, so overall a profit of 40p. Total profit after 2 weeks = ?21.90...still, Rome wasn't built in a day, won't be long before I catch you up Mick :) Are you still going to the Celtic game tomorrow night?

  8. The Old Trafford DJ was clearly in mischievous mood as Robin van Persie ran out to warm up before Saturday?s meeting with his former club. As Arsenal fans heckled an old flame, the DJ put on Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn?t?ve). :)
  9. Touts have been around forever. LM, before you rush and buy tickets for the West Ham game, remember it's a mid-week fixture, probably why they are available to non-members...
  10. If you're going travelling, and a novice when it comes to cameras, I think you'd be best of with a small, compact 'point and shoot' digital camera. Beware of gimmicks on cameras which you might not need or ever use. DJKQ is right about not going for highest number of megapixels, instead concentrate on lens quality if you want better quality photos. Camera buff friends swear by Canon and Nikon for the best lenses...
  11. LM, if you wanted just one ticket and you weren't bothered where you sat, I'd suggest buying from a tout outside the ground on match day. Getting two tickets side by side is a bit hit and miss though. You could try one of the ticket exchange websites, there used to be an official MUFC backed one, but it was scrapped. Lots on the web... http://redmancunian.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=614&p=965#p965 You could also try contacting one of the London/South East based supporters clubs to see if they have spare tickets. Might also be worth checking the Manchester Evening News website, may pay to place an advert...

  13. With only the Monday Night game to go, it looks like it could be a record low scoring week in the Predictor League. Since the concensus of those who commented was to use the 5 point Maxxi for teams missing a week, we will. From this week I'm also going to introduce the Coupon Buster Bonus. Each week I will identify the match/result that has the longest odds* that weekend, e.g. Southampton to win at Man City @ 12/1. So if someone correctly predicts an away win they will receive a 5 point bonus (this overides the normal 1 point). If the correct scoreline is predicted as well, they will receive a 10 point bonus (this overides the normal 3 points). This weeks Coupon Buster is Sunderland to win at Everton *Based on William Hill** odds **Randomly chosen
  14. Strange weekend for results, Utd only top 10 team to win :) Have to say that was the worse I've seen Arsenal play at OT for a long time. They played better in last years mauling. It would've been a similar scoreline had Utd been less wasteful. AVB's problem is his inflexibility to change a system when it's not working, allied with dodgy substitutions. In midweek his subs handed the initiative to Norwich, and I can't understand why in a home match he would replace one striker with another when chasing the game against Wigan...I bet 'arry had a chuckle at that.

I know Mick, but Quids would actually finish above you because your score wouldn't be considered as you only have 60% participation. I've done another table putting in a flat score of 5 points for missing a week. This penalty needs to be low enough to act as an incentive not to misss a week, but not too low so as to deter latecomers into thinking they could never catch up. Does 5 sound about right? (FYI the average of everybody's scores is 7.5) Do people think this is a fairest system?..
  19. Don't worry Jah, nothing is set in stone at the mo, just open to ideas. What started off as a bit of fun is getting a bit more competitive :) This latest table incorporates average scores (shown in red) for players that miss a week. It also includes a minimum participation rule. I'm going to set the bar higher than ???? suggested 50%, and make it 75%. This hopefuly will encourage players to participate rather than rely on getting an average score. Anyone with less than 75% (shown in indigo) wouldn't qualify for CL and final table consideration...
  20. I'm suspecting tactics are already coming into play, JL, PD & RD all holding back on their predictions... :)

How about when someone misses a week they are given that week's average score? I would've thought neither too great an advantage or disadvantage. I will knock up a table later to see how that would've affected scores up to now...
  22. El Pibe Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > There you go RD, huggy rules mean I've no chance > over the season of course. I know. If everyone made regular predictions for the next month then maybe we can scrap earlier predictions so that the points/played average can be used. The problem is when someone misses a week or two, it can skew their average in their favour. I shall keep a table for both scoring systems and see how things pan out...
  23. Visually yes, not sure it is phonetically though :)
