  1. According to their blurb, the Art Card gives 50% off Tate exhibitions, so I would check to see what exhibs the Tate has planned for coming 12 months. I know there's a major Hockney retrospective in the new year, which for me would be a deal clincher to get a Tate card...

If they overturn last week's decision, then it's full steam ahead with Brexit, and probably a hard one with the hawks in the Cabinet pulling May's strings. If they side with last week's judgement, then as has already been said it's a mess with a myriad of possible outcomes. Maybe there will (should) be a good old fashioned political compromise. The MPs agree to vote for Article 50 to be triggered, but with the caveat that the terms of Brexit that the Gov has negotiated are then voted on by a second Referendum. That way there are no accusations that Brexit has been blocked, and the Gov gets to negotiate how it sees fit, keeping it's bargaining chips close to it's chest. The public will then be voting from a much more informed standpoint as to what Brexit actually will mean politically and economically for the country...
  4. I received a flyer a few weeks ago from Roy Brooks saying that coats could be dropped off at their offices sanity girl, why not give them a call to see if they are still collecting (020 8299 3021)...

Not as easy as it once was due to the Fixed-Term Parliaments Act...https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fixed-term_Parliaments_Act_2011 Two-thirds of the 650 MPs is needed to call a snap election, which equates to 434. Tories currently have 328, way short even when you add the DUP etc. I can't see Labour in it's current state voting for an election, the Tories would win hands down. If the Supreme Court upholds this week's decision I can see us being in one huge stalemate...

  8. Good review Sheila, take a bow...
  9. Strange timing in light of yesterday's news though. If the appeal fails then MP's will get their chance to scrutinise Brexit. If the appeal wins then that's the time to resign...

  14. Perhaps they will now take the case to the European Court of Justice... :)
  15. I think they're talking about what Hoddle/Gazza/Bale etc did solely as Spurs players. Hoddle definitely had a better career at Spurs than Gazza and Bale. Wheras Bale will probably go on to have the best football career in general...

Agree, I like to think that had it been a close vote in favour of Remain, the Gov would've taken on board the concerns of the Leavers. At the moment it feels like we'll get a Hard Brexit, something that such a close vote didn't warrant...

  19. Post-election America will be just as polarised as the UK whoever wins their election. There's a lot of yah-boo politics around at the moment, most of it driven by social media...

Is it any wonder he cracked when discussing the monetary pros and cons of side extensions. Poor fella, didn't stand a chance...
  21. Jah Lush Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Phil Neville has six more England caps than Glenn. > Think about that. I get your point Jah, but Phil Neville played in a different position in a different era, so it's an unfair comparison. Which player(s) do you think were picked instead of him? I can remember Robson and Wilkins being in the England midfield during Hoddle's time, and neither of them was ever going to be dropped to accommodate Hoddle. I think Hoddle's problem was, like Le Tissier, he was considered a flair player, a luxury. He was just born in the wrong time, the English game wasn't ready for him. Not even the big English clubs at the time wanted to sign him. I'm not a fan of these 'who was the best ever' polls because the game has evolved so much over the years. I think you can pick the best Spurs player of an era, and Hoddle was certainly that...
