  1. At 11.15ish today. Hopefully I can reunite these with their owner! Phil
  2. Did they leave the CDs because of your terrible taste in music?
  3. We received an ?11 credit which I assume is because of the outage but haven't received anything to conform this. Bit odd as companies tend to go to town with this sort of thing - received a letter recently from a company saying that an error had been made on my account and they were refunding me 27p! Still working out how to talk to someone at Virgin, their "contact us" section of the website is a lesson to all businesses in how not to do it (unless your sole aim is to prevent anyone actually contacted you...)
  4. Hey Jules. When are you open? we are there! I've seen your van everyday for the past couple of years and wanted to tase your wares. :-)
  5. We should have left before but this is the final straw. I'm not naive enough to think any of the providers are without fault but after years of these outages and Virgin TV not working when you really want it to (e.g. on the rare occasions we have the time to sit down and watch a movie - "Sorry but we are experiencing unprecedented demand in your area, please try again later"" well f*** me, people are trying to watch a film on a Saturday night, who'd have thunk it) I think it's time to give someone else a go.
  6. Bumping this up as a reminder that the picnic is this Sunday. If you have a child starting at the nursery or reception then I hope to see you there! Phil.

Service Status still saying nothing but if you call them an Aut.Tow.Mate.Ted message says they are fixing it. "Engineers working hard, complex issue, taking longer than usual..." No date given.
  8. Hi. I'm helping run the welcome picnic for parents and children starting at Goodrich School this year. Here's a few details if you are interested in coming: - Sunday 2nd September from 11am to 1pm - In the Dog-free picnic area Peckham Rye Park - You need to bring your own food, but we will have a big bag of icepops (hopefully this amazing weather will still be wth us!) - Second hand uniform sale - Run by Friends of Goodrich (FOG) - http://www.friendsofgoodrich.com/ I attach a poster to help remind you, and to send on to anyone you think might also be interested. We will also be handing some out at the welcome morning for reception classes at the school tomorrow morning. I went last year and found it was a really lovely way for my daughter to meet some of her new class mates, for us all to find out a bit more about the (wonderful!) school, and for the parents to start the process of finding out then forgetting the names of the other parents... Please contact me on here or the school reception ([email protected]) if you have any questions. Cheers Phil

  10. We heard it! I can't help though, sorry. We heard the bang but by the time I'd got to the front window I couldn't see anything apart from some foxes going crazy - I assumed they had been fighting and knocked over a bin or something. I somehow didn't notice your car with it's bumper hanging off! I would normally have been in our front room at that time and could have been more useful but our 5 year old is currently scared of burglars (she hasn't been reading the forum, our car was broken into recently) had woken and I was having to lie under her bed until she fell back to sleep! Phil
  11. Hi Hoopoedi. Also top end and also no water. Probably the Court Land leak.
  12. Maybe Penguin but to avoid the police knocking at my door anytime soon can I say that I lack East European facial features and I'm a rubbish at plumbing.
  13. The problem you have with that description RCharles13 is today's fashion. If someone had asked me to elaborate on "East European" a couple of years ago I would have said "you know, skinny stonewashed jeans, trainers, tight leather jacket, short hair" but these days I'd look in the mirror and...
  14. I resurrected a similar thread this morning for a ?man with a van? type thing: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,1104757 on the basis that the above is in the ?lounge?, and no one is paying a blind bit of notice, I will watch your replies with interest!
  15. Can someone be so kind as to pass on Lino's number? Moving this weekend and need a van for a few hours. Thanks Phil
  16. Otta, I'm sure there are a few more possible reasons, not all business make good decisions!
  17. Real shame this. I was really looking forward to continuing our "tradition" of a bit of food and a couple of glasses of wine on a Thursday night despite the arrival of our little bundle of fun. In fact one of things that cemented ED as the place for me when I moved was the sight of a dad with new born in one hand and a pint in the other late one evening in the actress. The actress's family side also made this work fine as far as I could tell. Daft decision. Quick investigation last night and Great Ex is 8pm and Plough 9pm. All interestingly/conflictingly claiming that this is the law.
  18. 41 pages for Godwin's Law, surprised it's taken so long!
  19. Grumpyoldman, well said.
  20. aha, I stupidly assumed it was recently! "East Dulwich - Live your whole life in one year" Sue Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Run of bad luck? 21. Nice Pic Tara, reminds me of The Usual Suspects for some reason! Liquid also looks exaclty like my morning Berocca type drink. Which isn't a confession btw.:)) Now I know one shouldn?t be advocating the use of guns round here, or even making light of them...but I can?t help seeing those bottles lined up and wishing I had an air rifle (which would also let you smell the contents without getting too close!)
  22. Or stuff happens to some people Sue! Sounds like you've had a right run of bad luck there.
