With all respect Mr Fox that's poppycock. Yes fat is important for taste but that doesn't mean that cheap burgers are the tastiest. On the subject of good local burgers, went to the Victoria in Peckham Rye in the week and it was a beaut (chorizo scotch egg starter wasn't half bad either!)

I can slip it over my wrist when phoning, texting or playing scrabble.
  4. I'm not going to stop using my phone for it's intended purpose, and I'm not daft enough to think that the choice is (or ever should be) simply between phoning my girlfriend about sausages (last night?s example!) or being mugged. However... I am holding on to it a bit more tightly since reading this thread and thinking about it on the train this morning I reckon a wrist strap might be a decent compromise between maintaining a normal, healthy (and un-Daily Mail) attitude to life, whilst not being stupidly reckless. Not sure you can get one for the iphone though, for a start there is nowhere to attach it

  6. It's quite small, but tends to be quiet enough when I go. Think heaviest dumbbell is 40, might be 50, but plenty of (admittedly random) plates and about 5 olympic bars. Bench, squat rack, powercage and smith (though you sound like the kind of chap who would know not to use a smith machine) It's certainly not posh, and there's mats down if you need to drop the weights. Or, as seems to be the way with quite a few, you think dropping at the end of every set is somehow a sign of strength?!! You also get to use to pool, tennis, football pitches etc and there's a proper running track (google map it)
  7. Was having the same despair supe a few months ago! Have a look at Dulwch College. It's got everything you want and is cheap. Downside is that it's only open in the evening and weekends as the school uses it in the day. Not really a prob for me as it's 7 at earliest before I'm back from work. I could do with a training partner if you like it!
  8. Leaving aside the dumbbell issue, what free weights do they have there? I've joined the Dulwich College gym but would be good to have somewhere to go on my days off or bank holidays when the college gym is closed. Also are there any kettlebells (a great combination of weights and CV if you haven't tried them, weight training is not all about grunting!)
  9. Sorry to hear this Pugwash. As a cat lover with no cat I love that ED is full of friendly moggies.
  10. Are you after decent free weights Underhill_Rick?
