  6. I won both of my appeals. One was on the grounds of bad signage. The other came down to the independent adjudicator believing there was no malice aforethought on my part. A friend also used the same argument recently, and won. These were judgments against Southwark, Westminster, and Tower Hamlets respectively. Rowanofski, your position doesn't sound strong to me, though in borderline cases I would say the adjudicator will lend a kind ear to an honest individual with a clear argument who feels strongly enough about things to wade through the appeal process and turn up to the hearing at a possibly unfriendly hour.

  12. Thanks, DulwichFox. It happened to me too, and it's definitely not glue.

  14. Admin, is the EDF clock by about 10 mins or am I fast?

  16. I'd strongly recommend that area for all the reasons RPC gives. Munich also has a lot of art if that's your thing. And if you drive, it's great pottering country. Someone mentioned lakes. The shores of the Bodensee (or whatever it's called in English) are beautiful, though that's some way from Munich.
  17. For a good Italian meal, you couldn't beat Hannah's on East Dulwich Rd. Shame it closed, oh, 15 years ago.

  21. Yeah, maybe, Seabag. And I guess Peckham has more potential for property development than ED. Hence Foxtons' interest. I'll fetch my hat.
  22. Raider, The Arches are in the arches just down from the arches where Peckham Springs have sprung up. http://the-arches-studios.com/
  23. If memory serves, Foxtons' appearance on LL all those years ago was about halfway through ED's rise from nice-but-ordinary inner suburb to trendy "destination". It wasn't an early indicator of things to come. The Clapham crowd (sorry for the clich?) had already discovered the area by then. Am I right? On that basis a new office in Peckham might prompt a couple of new coffee shops to open, but it won't signal much more retail development or demographic change. I might be wrong. If a good bookshop or a delicatessen opens on Rye Lane, I'll eat my hat.
  24. Oh, and the Bussey Building is another trip in itself.
  25. By Peckham, I guess you mean Bellenden. If so the Vic Inn, with the Gowlett and the Montpelier on the way down from ED, form a holy trinity. As for galleries, try The Arches on Blenheim Grove (for good art and nice people) and Flat Time House on Bellenden (for something more cerebral) are possibilities.
