I think that we all put up with far too many of them in life, in fact in every job I ever had I was surrounded by them many on higher rates of pay too, useless bar studs! The place is full of arseholes, but watchagonnado?

If the base rate is 0.5% Why is my mortgage 5.9%???

:)):)) Brendan. Indeed, all of the clowns that took us to the brink of financial collapse proved to be greedy and shortsighted, possibly 'blind' might be more accurate. -
In Brazil there is a German speaking town where everything works like clockwork, not at all like the rest of Brazil. The secret is that to get a job there, you have to be fluent in German. If you drop in to Chinatown they employ Chinese, are they racist? As for your "arseholes" Brendan, many employers would argue they employ far too many, and pay them far too much, being 'common as muck' as you might say.

Not all banks building societies & financial institutions are greedy, wrote Garden man. List those which aren't greedy! No1............................. Somehow I do not think you will reach No2. A good derivative at this moment would be a printing press, to print ?50 notes to help see you through the times ahead. -
I suspect that answer should be supplied by the 24 year old forumista's.

One often feels the 'big fat mess' syndrome whilst raising one kids, it's hardly surprising as it is a long puzzling journey with no instruction book. I have been through the terrible two's three's ......through to the teens and into the twenties, and now I am very grateful to see them once a week for a meal together. It is impossible to be the perfect parent all the time, and some times you vent your wrath for the benefit of one's own sanity rather than for the child's good, but none of that matters because it is your kid, and you can do it however you want to. As there are no instructions you cannot do it wrong, just differently. They are the best thing that ever graced my life, and have made it so much richer, and wilst they did this they wore away at my sharp corners and improved my behaviour to the rest of the world.

It would make most of us shiver dreadfully at the thought of kipping down next to those looks. The runner beans have reached the top of the 8ft canes and are leaning over by about a metre, hope they produce as many beans as they do inches of plant.

I think it might make gold LadyTaTa. I know why the pigeons don't bother to line the nest, the big one sleeps on top of the runt which only survives in years of abundance.

We are sadly lacking mum's like your's Manda, and mine who would have dished out pain and misery in double quick time for such obnoxious behaviour.

This is not the first time a lorry load of old tyres have been dumped, because there was a couple of times over the last year or two when they were dumped on the industrial sites on Crystal palace rd. Some cowboy who should be paying to be rid of them is avoiding the charges, damned selfish creeps.

...and crapping in back gardens.....

My fatball holder takes 4 and if it empties that quickly, it usually means the pigeons have attacked it when I was away.

The runner beans are about ready now which is good, but the Japanese wine berry has almost finished it's had it's most productive year so far, they are similar to a rasberry in shape and colour but smaller. The tomatoes are coming along but nowhere near ripe yet. The grape vine is laden and the plums are growing towards full size. The goosegogs are about ready now so pies and deserts are imminent. The blackcurrants have been picked and jammed, it's the best flavoured blackcurrant jam I have made to date, which is nice.

Words that have sadly gone out of fashion for no apparent reason
SteveT replied to ????'s topic in The Lounge
nesh = someone who is despised for feeling the cold. If you were sitting too close to the coal fire as it was always freezing, you might be yelled at "get away from that fire you nesh bugger, let someone else feel the benefit, or do some ruddy work for a change that might warm you up if you're feeling nesh. lugs = knots in the hair which prevent a comb going through it. -

Pestering= begging ones mother repeatedly for something she did not want to buy. Mithering=pronounced mythering, when you are being bothered by demanding children, If you don't stop that damned snivelling, I shall give you something to cry for! Spoken by my mother rapidly losing patience with various offspring. He's got a face like a wet weekend. She's got a lip on = pouting and/or sulking -
It seems there is a great divide between jrussell and the rest of humankind too.

And yet these rich maniacs with their expensive cars still see fit to display their ill-gotten gains on the street. these people need to know that we hate them. writes jrussell. I do not think for one minute that they are maniacs just because they are rich. How do you know they are ill-gotten gains, many people work hard, save, and buy what they want. Some years ago I went through a high earning phase whilst working seven days a week and could have bought a good S/H one but did not care for the damn great things and I don't think people like them too much as they suggest troughs and snouts. I would not have appreciated anyone keying any car I have owned, least of all a collectors item Roller/Bentley. I do not hate people because they are rich, in fact I rather envy them their wealth and good fortune. I hate people who behave like inconsiderate selfish sh!ts, who wantonly damage or break stuff deliberately because it does not belong to them. jrussell's attitude will no doubt change as he eventually becomes richer and acquires more possessions, I can only hope he is spotted by another up'ncoming jrussell who keys his car. It is all well and good having anger jrussell, but you have to harness that anger as a positive force for your benefit, not a destructive and wilful act of violence. Could be, one of these days in the not too distant future, that the flash car is yours.

Dodgy blokes on Underhill Road and Woodvale today
SteveT replied to hat282's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Thanks for that hat282 I shall keep my eyes peeled for suspicious people creeping about the area and hope to increase the description. This forum must be quite helpful to the police, as it alerts thousands nay zillions of lurkers we never hear from. -
Who do you tune into to get the easiest and most straightforward weather report for the day or week?

On Ilkley moor bar t'at, you may have heard the song bar t'at means without a hat.

Pity about his 'bungs' allegations and his slithering into alcoholism. That man changed Derby into a village where everyone new each other, but he could not do the same with Notts, he never achieved the same 'taking the whole town with you' feeling. Clough was never one of the 'in' crowd and he seemed too vociferous for the England selector's, but I always felt that he should have had the manager's job in place of Robson. The bunch in charge of the selection had him in to explain exactly how he would do it, and which players would be used and where, but then gave the post to Robson no doubt with Clough's game plan.
