HAL9000 you are an erudite speaker, full marks for your succinct post. I agree completely with what you say, but only the people who have somehow run headlong into the establishment, would truly understand your point of view. You have written what I have long known, but could never express, and there is a great shortage of open balanced criticism in this society for the reasons you have mentioned. GOOD MAN. err or lady.

An opportunity for an electrician to fit a time clock, they will reap the benefit of the installation within months so if it doesn't happen after they read this post, they obviously don't expect to see the year out:))

I have two peanut feeders which get dominated by a blue tit family to the most part, until the sparrow family muscle them out of the way, they hang around for a few minutes, then the great tits move in on the sparrows, and take over for the next few minutes and then disappear. The blue tits are back in minutes to take back their rightful place. This pattern repeats itself so I was wondering if the great tits follow the sparrows throughout their lives, feeding almost parasitically on the sparrows. I have no evidence to support this theory, merely observation and speculation.

When I was a lad we were grateful to have mushy peas poured over your bag of chips, a sixpenny mix. -
One of their guys had dropped in to give a pint of blood, and they were armed because of the rough area.

But apart from that I'm sure he's a wonderful guy.

The texas chainsaw massacre, it made me feel real good when it finished.

I agree with daizie he's obnoxious, bullying, agressive, boorish, and a control freak. He gave Malinda Messenger a hard time whilst she bravely tried to explain the next happening thing, he tried to talk over her all the way through. He had also thrown her brutishly into the pool and she had complained that he had really hurt her. An untrustworthy character at best and thuggish at his worst.

A large contingent of forumistas turned up at the plough this evening. The first people I met was Ladymuck and Bookworm who were both newbies to the drinks evening. We sat with Andrew Black the photographer, and Brum who was standing in for Georgia. Michael Paleologous joined us and soon after that I made my excuses and left to try and make contact with my eldest, whom I expected to have arrived from her hols in the usa. The whole plough was jumping due to the ED forum populace swelling the ranks, and a good night seemed a certainty.

I hadn't noticed, so not an important process then.;-)

I felt the man was a bully, and he may well have done the same before and gotten away with it, and had I not challenged him he would have done so again, and he was big enough to ignore most of the population.

Radio 2 early in the am with Sarah Kennedy. Radio 4 most of the rest of the day as it is like a talking clock, I know what time of the day it is by whats on. Radio 3 sometimes for a change. Radio 7 which is infuriatingly on digital, so you of course need to buy a digital radio to receive it, or sky tv chanels. Some times catch Vanessa when I'm driving, who is best on radio, I can't stand watching her on tv. She is a cut above the rest of the flotsam on that station.

I think it's also to do with which era you have been brought up in, women and decent men did not have tattoos, the men that did spent their days in the snooker halls and bars rather than working.

First ones I encountered were on the back of envelopes from girlfriends: SWALK sealed with a loving kiss or: NORWICH nickers off ready when I come home, and many more. According to an episode in the Likely Lads PHILADELPHIA is one, but I never heard the explaination. Overall they are irritating ruddy things.

I have always felt that a tattoo brand's you, and while at the moment they seem to have become popular with various celebs they always hint at low life behaviour like having a bruiser dog instead of a pooch which is acceptable. My sister worked in a hospital for years and the major part of her time was spent organising the removal of tattoo's where people had been revolted by there own stupidity at their "body art". Even when they are removed you can see where they were, as the skin is not the same after the op. Guys with lots of tattoo's often suggests time in prison. I had never seen a woman with a tattoo until fairly recently, as it was generally considered to be for macho bad boys. Nope, I think they are best left to someone else, but they are certainly not for me, not even for free.

Usually you don't have to stand up to people they take a glance at you and determine whether they can take you, or they leave you well alone. If you stand up in that kind of situation you get at best a beating, or possibly killed. I was some years ago close to being attacked by someone who had a record of violence, when he came at me I was carrying a paring knife (I worked in a kitchen) which he had not noticed, and then I calmly said 'I've got a knife' and held it out. He backed off and I went on my way but had he come within reach I would have used whatever was at my disposal. I was not going to take a beating if there was any other way out, if it meant gutting him like a rabbit I was certainly up for it. Recently I challenged a guy who walked past me and the rest of the queue and went straight to the self check out tills, I said to him 'hay man' and he ignored me, I stayed where I was at the head of the queue and said 'HAY MAN' rather more loudly so that the supermarket went quiet and everything stopped........he then took a sly look to the left to see if it should be taken seriously, saw me, and went scarlet and then I said 'there's a queue' not as loudly, he quickly grabbed his goods and disappeared to a check out I guess. Had I been female or frail he would have ignored me, but I am not and it was my go.
