  1. My little girl is going to be 1 later in the week and i was wondering if anyone has a tried and tested dairy free and ideally sugar free or low sugar recipe they could share. She is cows milk protein intolerant but can have soy, wheat and eggs. There are a few online but not being a great baker it would be good to try one that someone has made successfully:-) Thanks.
  2. If you are looking for something really lightweight just for holidays and reasonably priced (well actually cheap) then i have been v pleased with the Tippietoes Umbrella Stroller. Got mine off Amazon for ?34!
  3. Hi, It's never nice to have to do the flight back for something like this so i feel for you. We had to do it reverse when we lived in Oz and it is the phone call you dread. Mini patt was born in Sydney and we moved back to London when she was 5 months old last August so did the reverse trip. She is a 'Neocate baby' and it was pretty similar getting it there as here, if you don't have a prescription it is about $60 a tin though. Most pharmacies need to order it in but this only takes 1 night. I posted 8 tins and took 8 in one suitcase and customs were fine with both. It would be worth taking your Dr's notes and copy of prescription with you in case you run out as you might be able to get the Dr to issue a script there but i found i could only get mine from my peadatrician and as you pay around $300 to see one of those it may be cheaper to buy Neocate depending how long you are there. I didn't find the flight as bad as i thought and my daughter has always been a rubbish sleeper (off topic but am sure there's a connection with dairy intolerance, neocate and bad sleeping?!), she slept for about 6 hours of the first leg and 4/5 of the second. In between she liked playing with the remote controls, having a go on the headphones and walking around looking at the lights. I flew Thai and they were incredibly good with me having a child and very helpful. Jetlag for the baby wasn't too bad either and i think having a bad sleeper actually helps with this as it's not like they have a perfect 7pm-7am routine that gets disrupted! Anyway good luck and if you have any other questions re neocate etc feel free to PM me.
  4. I had my daughter in Oz last year and things i found useful that my family here sent us were; non 'baby pink' clothes(the girls stuff in oz can be v expensive and a bit girly so loved all the h&m, and even supermarket stuff in polka dots and stripes etc that people sent us from the UK.) , practical things like baby monitor and digital thermometer are double the price in oz, nappy bags are v expensive too. Plus always got my mum to send me Sudocrem as couldn't ever find it there! Hope that helps.
  5. Oh good luck at the Dr. I just read this thread and it brought back going through this with my daughter who is now 11 months so i just wanted to say it does get better. She had reflux bought on by cows milk allergy and after cutting out dairy and bf'ing made no difference we managed to get her on neocate at 12 weeks and she changed overnight. Do push to get referred by your dr as they can do stool tests which whilst can't prove cow's milk allergy conclusively can highlight an overproduction of reducing substances in the stomach that indicate it. I found it helped to have a list of her symptoms written down so i didn't forget to tell the dr. In case you have any of the same, our symptoms were; sandpaper rash on cheeks, yellow/orange frothy poos, explosive poos and some streaks of blood in it plus distended stomach and then the whole reflux not being able to sleep lying down and vomiting side of it. Other than necoate things that helped my daughter were; she slept in her car seat at night for the first 2 months after the dr said it would be better for her and i found feeding her little and often and propping her quite upright on a bf cushion in corner of the sofa for 30 mins after eating and her day sleeps helped. Good luck!
  6. Another fan of the Garnier BB cream - someone commented i looked well rested the other day and bearing in mind i'd had 3 hrs sleep it must have been the cream! Is ?9.99 as well so not too painful on the purse.
  7. I should have done the whole phone number swapping thing too as was in the park but didn't realise quite how many mums and prams would be there and had no clue how to find you lot! Next time i will be better organised.

  10. I'll be around Lordship Lane at 3pm as my daughter has a dr appt at 2 so could grab a coffee if anyone fancies. Have never been to the Warwick Gardens playgroup either - what time is that tomorrow?
  11. Sorry i didn't make today ladies. My little one finally fell asleep at half two and i didn't dare to wake her after the difficulty in getting her to sleep. I am desperately hoping this sleep regression thing is temporary Snowboarder as i had just got used to getting more than 3 or 4 hrs a night and it is a struggle to go back to zombie land! I am definitely around next week though and would love to come along then. Cheers, S
