  1. Thanks midivydale have tried the above number with no luck but I'll leave a message as I guess he may pick it up before tomorrow. I can cope with the suffering whilst my husband is here just a bit worried about tomorrow when he's at work and have a lively 2.5 year old to contend with! Oh well only 3 weeks'ish to go although my daughter was born at 42 weeks so hoping it's not another 5!
  2. Bumping this to see if anyone knows of an emergency physio that would be open on a Sunday to try and help my severe SPD? I have had it throughout this pregnancy (and 1st) but its been manageable but this weekend at 37 weeks it has become chronic, I can't put any weight on my right side, sleep or move freel and not sure I can wait till either of the above open tomorrow! Thanks.
  3. Thanks, I'll wander up and see if it's on but have a feeling it may be next week. Roll on term time and more activities to entertain my lively 2.5 year old!
  4. Does anyone know if this is on tomorrow? Its the one at the Community Centre on Darrell Road that's a mix of soft play and music. Trying to plan for a wet weather day! Thx
  5. I felt pretty similar at this stage too (am now 8 months into second pregnancy with a 2.5 year old toddler so on the home stretch) and a few things that helped me were; eating 6 small meals a day and making sure they were quite protein heavy. So for example would have small bowl of porridge with honey and fruit at home, a milky drink and snack once at work and then a salad with chicken or fish or itsu sushi for lunch (apparently their sushi is ok when pg), dried fruit or babybel cheese in pm, normal dinner including some protein and yoghurt and fruit before bed. I found if I went too long without food it made tiredness worse. Also I found this time round I only started feeling like I was over the first trimester tiredness and sickness at about 24 weeks but then did get a bit more energy. Hope you start feeling better:-)
  6. We spent a lovely weekend here a couple of weeks ago www.hiddenspring.co.uk/. Very family friendly with a few animals, swings etc and near Lewes and South Downs national park and you drive through Tunbridge Wells to get there which is nice for a stop.
  7. We are on Keston Road and have rubbish reception too (me on 3 and husband on EE) - have spoken to both companies and it just seems we are in a bit of a black spot. Is really annoying as have to stand right in bay window to get even half a chance of a signal. Have to renew contract soon too so keen to hear if anyone round here gets a good signal.
  8. I had my daughter in Sydney and the lead Paediatrician at the hospital was a guy called Dr Howard Chilton who pioneered the fourth trimester theory, he gives regular talks to all expectant parents about it which are amazing and I was so glad to have heard before coming home with a newborn. I am not sure if it's available in the UK but his book 'Baby on Board' is a great read if you want to find out more about it. http://www.babydoc.com.au/
  9. The weather is looking a bit iffy so may be an indoor cafe meet up but hopefully it will stay dry. I'll get there for 10am and I am wearing a bright pink top today and have my lively 2 year old daughter with me so should be fairly easy to spot!
  10. We had this with my daughter and what worked for us was pushing back the morning nap each day by 30 mins (over a 2 week period) until she was having 1 sleep per day at 11am which lasted for about 4-5 months when she then moved to a 12:30/1pm sleep. She has always been and still is (at 26 months) an early riser but this helped us get to at least a 5:30am start.
  11. For those that are free on the 28th June for a meet up - shall I suggest 10am at Peckham Rye park cafe and whoever fancies it can come along? I should also be able to make the 21st so look forward to meeting some more of you then. Sophie
  12. I'd be up for a Friday park visit along with my two year old as well as I don't work then. Does June 28th suit anyone?
  13. Knomester - I have tried the kids 50spf one (didn't spot the 30 so went for the highest) which was fine on my LO so I'd have thought the 30 would be ok too if you find it works for you. She is at the stage of loving to spray it on so it has been well tested at our house and no reactions yet!
  14. My 2 year old is allergic to most creams (rash, streaming nose and eyes) and I have tried quite a few of the above without too much success (Jason organic was the best for us). Last week though i thought i'd try the new formula ambre soleil sensitive advanced 50spf for kids as saw it was new with different ingredients and so far so good. Am pleased as my bank account was taking a massive hit spending a fortune on creams that she still reacted to!
  15. Thanks for the warning. Did make me chuckle though at someone coming up with such an elaborate way to get a cheap thrill:-)
  16. You could also try High Road House in Chiswick (part of soho house group) as have heard it's really nice and not too far from Balham in a taxi I wouldn't have thought.
  17. I can do the 6th too so look forward to it.
  18. I decorated these Snaps glasses from Ikea as my wedding favours (and served Snaps as a toast) and tied a name tag to them so they doubled up as the place setting. With a mix of Swedes and Scots though most our guests were big drinkers so may not work as well if yours aren't:-) http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/60015131/
  19. We've had this one as a second buggy for the car and holidays for the last year and been really pleased with it, was ?35. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tippitoes-PC1-Stroller-Charcoal/dp/B0015IP2XQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1368528801&sr=8-1&keywords=stroller
  20. I was diagnosed with post natal borderline hypothyroidism (my levels were just on cusp of whether to treat with thyroxine) but like you I wasn't too keen on this treatment either. I had acupuncture instead, on my dr's advice actually, and found this really effective for the symptoms and was enough to sort me out. As I say though mine was borderline and I think purely brought on by pregnancy so a more severe case may need different treatment.
  21. I am at a hen do this weekend (not sure a sober one will be the same!) but look forward to meeting you at the next meet up. Have fun. Sophie
  22. Just bumping as thinking of heading down today but can't work out if the water is on yet or not.
  23. Thought this article I got this morning, in a nutrition newsletter I subscribe to, would be interesting for other CMPI parents as it talks about dairy v plant forms of calcium with some examples. http://www.thefoodcoach.com.au/articles/?ArticleID=1348&NLID=482&UID=9,171
  24. My very nearly 2 year old has CMPI and has 6 monthly checks with the dietician at Kings (I didn't specifically ask the DR for this just happened after being referred there when she was little) just to check if she has grown out of it and height and weight etc. At the last appointment the dietician recommended moving up to the Neocate Active and just faxed the Dr (DMC) a letter to update the prescription so if you can get a referral to the dietician at least that might do. For the calcium levels you could also try using calcium enriched oat milk for cooking and cereal etc as have found it quite good for stuff like fish pie/ lasagne white sauce and pancakes etc. On a side note the Neocate active is a bit of a faff to prepare as only comes in sachets which make up 300ml which is loads but is really hard to measure out any less and the boxes of sachets take up so much room in the kitchen so I have at times wished we were back on the tins of old stuff!
  25. Hi, I am due with number 2 on October 11th (although won't hold my breath as my daughter was 14 days over!) when my lively toddler will be 2 and a half. I'd be keen to meet other mums and mums to be as won't bother with classes this time I don't think. xx
