  1. Sorry you've got another CMPI baby Strawbs, I went through this with my second one six months ago and had also thought/hoped i was due an easy baby this time:-) Saying that as you know the signs etc and what to push for at the Dr I have found it a lot easier to get the situation sorted this time. Although my second is diff in that he is much more sensitive to soya protein as well as CMP then my first was so having to really label check as we start weaning. We didn't find aptamil pepti worked for my daughter so this time I went straight to Neocate and luckily my son doesn't hate it. Could be worth a try to put a few drops of vanilla essence in it to make it more palatable at first as this helped us. I have found the CMPA Support Groups on facebook a real font of knowledge this time round so may be worth joining https://www.facebook.com/groups/Allergy.diet/ Hope you get it sorted soon.
  2. My daughter went there from 1- 2.5yrs and I was very happy with it. It provided a lovely nurturing environment for her and the staff were all lovely. Personally I find ofsted reports for nursery level education a bit arbitrary and would recommend visiting and getting a gut feel for a place.
  3. Jaflong is our regular take away too - consistently high standard and agree Naga is our favourite dish!
  4. To update as know other people are often looking for a catsitter - we used Louisa (Lucy123 on here) to come in and feed and look after our cat and we were very happy with the service. Our cat was much better groomed on our return than she normally is poor thing! Her number is 07863 771199
  5. Thanks for all the PM's - I have now found someone. Love the forum:-)
  6. Sainsbury's have dairy free eggs at the moment and also plastic egg shells for DIY easter egg hunts that can be filled with choc alternatives which is what I am planning for my CMPI two.
  7. Another vote for Nicola from my 3 year old too.
  8. We used to use Heather of The Wingless Bird to feed our cat when away but don't seem to be able to get hold of her anymore and we need a cat sitter quite urgently now for a week from 16th-24th April. Does anyone have any other contacts? Have tried Rosie the catsitter but she's busy. Or would anyone recommend a local cattery please? Thanks in advance!
  9. Your son sounds like my now 5 1/2 month old was Jenny as he only liked sleeping on his side too. I also had a bednest and he could only sleep; on his side in that/ on his side in the bed next to me or on his tummy on me and i really worried too about when the time came to move him to a cot as I wouldn't be able to see him but actually its been ok (only been 2 weeks though i guess). He kind of rolls a bit on his side in the cot but not fully and only flips to his tummy in the morning when practising his rolling when he's awake. I actually notice that if i have him in the bednest if we're having an unsettled night he goes back to full side sleeping and I think it is slightly because of the angle of it and also he smells me and wants to get closer. I do have the angelcare monitor pad under the cot mattress though which provides me with a bit reassurance so that might be an idea if you are worried.
  10. Yayna teaches a 'little yogis' class on Tuesday afternoons at her studio in the gardens. I haven't been to this class but her pregnancy yoga class was great. http://www.theyogaroom.org.uk
  11. Bluedark - not a complete expert on spotting allergies other then my experiences but often finding underlying one is a case of trial and error and challenges as you are doing. I think they blood test or skin prick (i think it is same thing they are testing for just depends on circumstances when to do either, guessing skin prick takes longer to get an appt as needs to be done in clinic at hosp) for the most likely allergens which are cow's milk protein, eggs and nuts as they would make up the majority of cases. However these would only show up an IGE mediated allergy (an antibody created by immune system in response to allergen) and a lot of cases are non- IGE mediated which means they will most likely grow out of them. For example I have always been allergic to nuts and skin prick tests show this and i won't outgrow it but my 3 year old with dairy allergy didn't ever get a reaction from skin prick test and is now showing signs of growing out of it when we do a challenge every few months. Hope that helps. I also found this website really useful for info about Cow's milk allergy http://www.isitcowsmilkallergy.co.uk/
  12. I just went through this too have a 3 year old who had severe reflux and CMPA who only improved first time round when moved onto neocate at 8 weeks and a 4 month old boy who also has cmpa and soy allergy (I went dairy free whilst pregnant this time but found out through a few slip ups and also wasn't being strict enough about soy as my daughter hadn't been as sensitive to that)and I pushed for neocate for him and it was the only thing that again sorted him out. It is very sad it happening again isn't it but at least you are armed with all information this time. I just got my gp to prescribe neocate as I knew all the signs from last time and he'd dropped 3 centiles as he'd refuse to breastfeed and arch and scream so didn't actually bother going down the reflux meds route again as I was pretty convinced the reflux was again just a symptom of underlying allergy. I stated off mixed feeding with it but after a couple if weeks you could clearly see him in psi if i 'd breastfeed him so went fully onto neocate . Was again really sad to stop bf'ing but like last time seeing my baby transform into a happy smiley boy made me think was right decision for us. I just had dietician appt at kings for him and she said there is a high incidence of siblings having same allergies and intolerances which I don't think is conveyed enough to you to be honest as I know it was the one thing I was so nervous about having my second. Good luck and feel free to pm me as all very fresh in my mind only being a few months ago.
  13. My daughter just got bought a lovely rag doll from m&s and they have quite a few nice ones. http://www.marksandspencer.com/Marks-and-Spencer-Large-Scarlett/dp/B0033T8D9U?ie=UTF8&ref=sr_1_8&nodeId=42966030&sr=1-8&qid=1386191465&pf_rd_r=0HXH4R6C1MNE2ZRN6607&pf_rd_m=A2BO0OYVBKIQJM&pf_rd_t=301&pf_rd_i=0&pf_rd_p=321381407&pf_rd_s=center-3
  14. I feel for you as I have a 3 week old baby and a 2 and a half year old and was in exactly this position 6 weeks ago. I went to see Russel at Dulwich Physio (in DMC on Crystal palace rd) on the advice of others on the forum for PGP and he really helped to get me through the last few weeks of pregnancy with a treatment a week and he would tape up my back to hold in the sacro-iliac joint in between. With this and also using a heat pack at night it got a bit more manageable, I also found that for me bouncing on the gym ball which I was doing a fair bit at this point actually really aggravated it so when I worked that out and stopped it helped. To give you some hope it cleared up for me within a week or so this pregnancy and even though I am tired with a newborn I feel great being able to actually move again! I found the last few weeks with pgp and a toddler much worse than recovery from a fairly tricky labour and sleepless nights. Good luck.
  15. I can second the vtech walker as my first loved it to help her in this inbetween stage. It's not a beauty but gives them quite a lot of entertainment for quite a while.
  16. I also heard this at the lanes 'meet the midwife' session last week. It is not definite but they are concerned that funding may be pulled in the future and did say if we were happy with the midwife case loading care we had received it would be really helpful to write to the head of midwifery at Kings directly or through PALS which I plan on doing.
  17. Thanks midivydale have tried the above number with no luck but I'll leave a message as I guess he may pick it up before tomorrow. I can cope with the suffering whilst my husband is here just a bit worried about tomorrow when he's at work and have a lively 2.5 year old to contend with! Oh well only 3 weeks'ish to go although my daughter was born at 42 weeks so hoping it's not another 5!
  18. Bumping this to see if anyone knows of an emergency physio that would be open on a Sunday to try and help my severe SPD? I have had it throughout this pregnancy (and 1st) but its been manageable but this weekend at 37 weeks it has become chronic, I can't put any weight on my right side, sleep or move freel and not sure I can wait till either of the above open tomorrow! Thanks.
  19. Thanks, I'll wander up and see if it's on but have a feeling it may be next week. Roll on term time and more activities to entertain my lively 2.5 year old!
  20. Does anyone know if this is on tomorrow? Its the one at the Community Centre on Darrell Road that's a mix of soft play and music. Trying to plan for a wet weather day! Thx
  21. I felt pretty similar at this stage too (am now 8 months into second pregnancy with a 2.5 year old toddler so on the home stretch) and a few things that helped me were; eating 6 small meals a day and making sure they were quite protein heavy. So for example would have small bowl of porridge with honey and fruit at home, a milky drink and snack once at work and then a salad with chicken or fish or itsu sushi for lunch (apparently their sushi is ok when pg), dried fruit or babybel cheese in pm, normal dinner including some protein and yoghurt and fruit before bed. I found if I went too long without food it made tiredness worse. Also I found this time round I only started feeling like I was over the first trimester tiredness and sickness at about 24 weeks but then did get a bit more energy. Hope you start feeling better:-)
  22. We spent a lovely weekend here a couple of weeks ago www.hiddenspring.co.uk/. Very family friendly with a few animals, swings etc and near Lewes and South Downs national park and you drive through Tunbridge Wells to get there which is nice for a stop.
  23. I had some done at Merrifields on Grove Vale, in the row of shops past Blackbird bakery before ED station.
  24. We are on Keston Road and have rubbish reception too (me on 3 and husband on EE) - have spoken to both companies and it just seems we are in a bit of a black spot. Is really annoying as have to stand right in bay window to get even half a chance of a signal. Have to renew contract soon too so keen to hear if anyone round here gets a good signal.
  25. I had my daughter in Sydney and the lead Paediatrician at the hospital was a guy called Dr Howard Chilton who pioneered the fourth trimester theory, he gives regular talks to all expectant parents about it which are amazing and I was so glad to have heard before coming home with a newborn. I am not sure if it's available in the UK but his book 'Baby on Board' is a great read if you want to find out more about it. http://www.babydoc.com.au/
