I wouldn't also describe many families in London earning well above the national average as especially wealthy. But times is hard and I reluctantly accept that unpopular cuts are needed including this one, which does affect me too.

I am putting Breaking Bad above The Sopranos. I am saving The Wire. Whilst 6ft Under, Maedmen and Westwing are all a bit exquisite they never got me addicted like BB and the Sopranos. Thought Rome was great crap and watched all that. Honorary mention to Band of Brothers and I've also watched all of the Eccles/firth Pride and Prejudice at least twice.

  7. Right. So far, and much to my surprise, only Nettie and Declan have offered any genuine life tips that may be useful to me.

She treated the public with contemp by 'splitting' from her husband and then seeing him most weekends and Christmas. I think that lacks integrity and an insult to us. This forum is about opinions SJnot just your world view...you've plenty of form on this, so stop being so fooking rude because not everyone else thinks the sun shines out of the Labour Party's arse.
  10. Polos The Nell Gwyne The Troy Bar Coach & Horses ...never gonna find out myself.
  11. TGIFridays/Ribshack/etc etc - all rather overpriced for the quality but very much 80s and pretty family friendly
  12. And now Andrew Mitchell has demonstrated AGAIN what an out of touch, self important bunch of idiots they by and large are. Anyway Tessa presumably now you've given up on your career this means you won't have to vote for illegal wars and abandon your loved ones...this may make you like the rest of us plebs - you know, a few flaws by and large decent, honest, loyal, some moral integrity ec

A thread for genuinely helpful tips, not the Viz ones. BEHAVE NETTIE. Going on a flight with your other half or a friend, if you're choosing your seats online then one of you choose the ailse seat and the other the window. Unless the flights full then a seat between two strangers is far less likely to be taken, so you usualy get an empty seat in your row. If it is taken most people will willingly swap for an aisle or window seat so you still get to sit together. Keep 'em coming.

  18. Your dogging secret is safe with us Artful
  19. Some critics argue that WW2 and not Keynsian theory saved the US economy. Certainly despite the mythology of the Great Depression the UK pulled out far quicker than the US with a more traditionally fiscal route. Keynes also had some views on the maximum amount of budget defeceits which we've gone far beyond. I think you'll find it's more Balls ( an ex of Flanders btw) and Osbourne. That the BBC economists has wet dream about Keynes is hardly a shocker..and good old Will Hutton gets a platform natch.
  20. Does this crap really belong in the DR?
  21. HOnnie b wins this as he once saw Dustin Hoffman slipping into Mrs Robinson
  22. Being a tight git using my iPad to download titles that are out of copyright and thus free, which also gives me a chance for some classics. Just finished some rollicking Sherlock Holmes and going to revisit Middlemarch.
